Interoperability will make a lot of money this bull cycle in crypto

Interops Pt. 2

By Hamminy | cryptoinvesting | 9 Mar 2024

We've already covered how big of a deal the interoperability narrative will be in this bull cycle. A few upcoming events have brought the topic back into full focus for me, as I believe they will be the catalyst to bring eyeballs to the narrative. We got the

1️⃣ $W airdrop
2️⃣ Magic Eden airdrop
3️⃣ $NGL TGE
4️⃣ Partisia blockchain dropping

all just in time for altcoin sesason.

By themselves, each of these events could get everyone talking about interops. Together, it's virtually guaranteed to bring this puppy into the conversation. Here's what that means and how I'll be incorporating it into my port.

$W Airdrop (3/19)

They're calling it the biggest airdrop ever – the Wormhole protocol is giving users of its bridge up to $2 billion in tokens based on presale prices of the allocation. Wormhole was one of the best (and only) ways to move between chains last bull.

Even with new competition, the protocol retains its userbase, and that's because it has dedicated itself to connecting chains that don't seem like they go together. All the new bigshots like Sui are easy to connect to old school favs like BSC and Avalanche, and that's tech that makes things better for everyone.

These allocations are like 1,338 $W per wallet used, which is now trading ≈ $2,000 per wallet. A lot of whales are going to get a lot of money, and they're going to be very happy they did all that bridging. It's only natural that some of that money go itno some of the new bridging opportunities, with the general narrative that connecting chains is good because it makes everybody rich.

Magic Eden Airdrop (3/13)

The airdrop, which is expected to pay a few car notes this March, isn't the reason Magic Eden replaced Opensea as the marketplace of choice for web3. It's the nail in the coffin. Magic Eden is in this position because of its ability to connect all major NFT chains into one wallet. In what other place do you see Bitcoin, Solana and Polygon so close to each other? People go to Magic Eden for convenience, and with the Diamond drop, they'll go for money, too.

Opensea sat on its laurels and wasn't fast enough to take advantage of the BRC-20 craze. It's only natural that the conversation will flow with the money once this airdrop hits, and the money says the conversation is going to be about the interoperability of major chains like Bitcoin with Solana and the big EVMs.

$NGL TGE (3/13)

The dark horse of the March airdrop season is Entangle, which is a project that knows how to market itself into web3's first tier. The Entangle project itself is a bit more esoteric than Wormhole and Magic Eden, as it deals with liquidity backends instead of funny pictures and token movements. But their TGE speaks to everyone because of the opportunity for profit.

The Entangle team launched $NGL in a highly exclusive private sale with a market cap of $1M. They simultaneously started the narrative that liquidity interoperability is a multibillion dollar endeavor. If that narrative catches (and it might, because it's based in truth), we're looking at 100-1000xs for launch sale investors. Snagging Bybit as a TGE partner doesn't hurt the cause. If we see degen level leverage on the token as soon as it comes out, look out. This could get wild.

Point is, a lot of people have a chance to make a lot of money with the $NGL TGE, which is a project that is talking about what? That's right — interoperability. Starting to see a pattern here?

Partisia Blockchain (TBA)

The narrative for a highly anticipated modular layer 1, Partisia, is heating up for whatever reason. Perhaps it's close to a TGE. All we know is some major influencers have taken on the Partisia banner, which usually means the project is heating up for something big.

For those in the cheap seats, "modular" = blockchain that relies on other layers to work. Or... interoperability. One look at Partisia's socials and the caliber of influencoors shilling it, and we can assume the launch will be big. What will all the talk be about? How interoperable this chain is slash wow look at how it performs and Ethereum's still got huge fees etc. and so forth.

Interops

Like I said, interops is going to be big in March.

So how to profit?

I had some ideas focused around BTC in my previous article. With my other capital I'm going after projects that fall in that same vein — connecting major chains with major TVL that would otherwise have a problem interacting with each other. Reasoning is simple: Make the movement of money easier, and more money will move. The more money moves, the more profit chances you get when you open your computer and start clicking buttons.

I'm looking at projects I use like Symbiosis ($SIS) and crap I don't use cuz I'm not a developer like Phala ($PHA). Phala's an especially good play that hits the crossover of the AI and interoperability narrative. It could honestly pump during both.

I think Badger ($BADGER) will move big because people will want to find stuff that hasn't pumped yet. That and they've been building big during the bear market and have OG status.

Synapse is a popular bridge, but it's already pumped, so I'll be staying away. $SIS is an actual better bridge IMO anyway. If you know of any other bridges with tokens that are smooth between chains and don't lock up your money, they're probably a good play, too.

This could be the next leg up for the modular blockchain Celestia as well, but I'm going to be playing that through Trestle ($TRESTLE), the modular of the modular between Celestia and Ethereum. More risk, but lower market cap and possibility for major Xs.

Gameswift ($GSWIFT) is another project I think will rip. It's going for modular and gaming.

Any plays you're going for, leave them in the comments. Or don't because I know you're selfish. Which is fine. I got a couple of zingers I'm keeping to myself, too, chump 😂🤪😁
