Ethereum gas fees have skyrocketed and become more expensive for small-to-nothing holders like you and me.

But there's still hope to trade native Ethereum tokens and pay less to nothing.

With the recent surge, gas fees have been up to a hundred some days.

Today, you are going to discover when to pay less than $5 in gas fees.

Note: we're not going to be technical about Gwei because, in the end your reward is your dollar value. But what you need to know about Gwei is simply - higher Gwei means high Gas Fee and vice versa.

To scope off a high gas fee on Native Ethereum Tokens per my experience, you will likely need to experience these trading sessions.

⇴Morning Hours from 4 AM (CAT) or 3 AM (CET) till the morning hours. You will probably experience low Gwei. And it's heightened as we move towards active trading hours.

⇴Weekends have proven to be less volatile hence low gas fee due to less active trading activities.

⇴Special Days: Most days where celebrations are carried in most parts of the world leads to less trading activities effectively lowering gas fees for Ethereum Based Token because of low congestion on the network.

As I am typing down this line, it's still cheaper to trade Native Ethereum Tokens right now than it will be within the week.

Nonetheless, the Duncan Upgrade has lowered fees for Layer 2 (L2) or roll-ups built on top of Ethereum. But not significantly for Ethereum.
