Seeing as Twitter has now become X and I can't log in (due to some conflict with JavaScript usage or a CORS issue causing a conflict with Firefox or one of the addons/plugins I'm using), I've decided to abandon Twitter (which now redirects to x.com). I happened to discover this when I went to post about publishing my first novel and do some shameless self promotion. I can't be arsed to figure out the cause of the problem, disable the relevant plugin and fix it myself (assuming that I can). It's not like I used Twitter much, other than to remind myself how stupid and anger-inducingly antisocial other people can be. Ditto Facebooger, Fratlife and Reddit. (I haven't yet come up with a creatively derogatory nickname for the latter. Please feel free to suggest one if you have.)

I know that Musk bought out/took over Twitter a while ago and it appears I'm well behind the curve of the madding crowd. However, it can be argued that I'm actually not behind the curve when it comes to migrating to Mastodon, because I've had a Mastodon account since before the mass exodus away from the elongated musk rat and his blue-tick sycophants, even from before Musk so much as mentioned anything about acquiring Twitter. (How hipster of me, right?) I just don't use the account much, since Mastodon was really quiet when I joined, which was fairly early on, and I didn't follow many people. (That's not necessarily bad thing, considering Twitter's signal-to-noise ratio. I also have no followers on Mastodon, so there's no point in shouting into the void.)

One of the things I like about Mastodon is that it allows for editing toots and doesn't seem to have a length restriction (or it's larger than Twitter's if there is one).

So, for anyone whom wishes to follow me for one-liners and short paragraphs of snark not making their way onto Pub0x, Medium or Noise.app, my Mastodon handle is @[email protected] ... (I'm having some trouble with logging into some of those due to a cash-flow issue preventing me from having access to my email, but that should be resolved by the end of next month at the latest.)
