FM25 Delayed

FM25 Delayed

Good day everyone,

I hope you are all having a good day, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things sports. In this post I will be looking at the disappointing announcement of FM25 being delayed until next March.

FM25 Delayed

It was only last week where I did a blog post on the news released by Sports Interactive (SI) regarding the newest version of Football Manager. It was supposed to be a new dawn for Football Manager, with new features such as being built on the unity engine and the addition of women's football. Instead, a bit over a week after SI announced the end of November for a release date (which had already been delayed from its original release date) and began taking pre-orders, they turn around and announce that the game will not be ready until March of next year.

As you can imagine the reaction from the community has not been good. The trust is now gone. One thing that SI and Football Manager have always had was a loyal fanbase who knew that they were guaranteed a game year in, year out, and the fans of the game always showed patience and loyalty to the production of the game. Not this time. Not after the company happily hoodwinked their fans to begin pre-order sales only to then push the game back a further 4 months.

By the time FM25 releases, assuming it does actually release in March of next year, there will only be 2-3 months left of the traditional soccer season. Fans will barely have time to sink their teeth into the game before FM26 will be all the talk, assuming it will get released at its proper date in November next year.

Very little information was given on the FM25 in the release announcement by SI and Sega, but the fact they put together a roadmap with expected game detail announcements shows just how far they were willing to go with their deception. It is implausible that only a mere week later they realised they could not finish the game on time. They knew, they always knew, and they just didn't care so they could try lure people in to pre-order. Horrible actions in my opinion, and I have been a long-time fan of the game series way over a decade now.

Now to be fair there could be some positives to emerge from the game being pushed back. For example they had removed international football, which hopefully now could be brought back in assuming the developers make the most of their additional time. It also means any potential features they are looking to bring into the game could be better refined and worked out over the coming months. It might mean a smoother gaming experience upon release, but it will really need to go all out to win the fans back over. Many will feel let down but it could be an opportunity for SI to really go all out in their build on Unity Engine and make the best possible version of the game. Only time will tell, but the YouTubers have been out in voice once again and many have not held back. Check out their opinions below and lets all hope SI learn from this huge mistake ahead of future releases.

Hopefully there will be no further disappointments or delays for the fans of the game.

Have a great day.
