Weekend Predictions & Final Results
So in terms of the predicted scores, a disaster as I got 0/10 correct this week. In terms of match-winner/loser, I managed to predict 4/10 correctly.
Predicted: Leicester 3-1 Arsenal
Result: Leicester 0-2 Arsenal
Gabriel, Smith-Rowe
A terrible performance from the home side, it really was. I expected Leicester to really push Arsenal but instead they were outclassed, mostly by the amazing saves of Ramsdale in the Arsenal net.The new defensive displays from Aubameyang and Lacazette, showing their acceptance of Artetas style, and the development of Smith-Rowe means Arsenal fans have a lot to smile about. The lack of European football may end up being a blessing, allowing Areteta more time to fine tune his squad while gaining experience in the job. Rodgers meanwhile, will be left wondering why his squad looks as impressive as most outside the big 3 of City, Chelsea and Liverpool, but they are struggling to show it consistently. Whether its the tolls of Europa League football or more, they are in the wrong half of the table and will need to find their form soon to have a good season.
Predicted: Burnley 1-1 Brentford
Result: Burnley 3-1 Brentford
Wood, Lowton, Cornet - Ghoddos
I was quite surprised, and happy, to see Burnley get the result. That’s nothing against Brentford as I think they have been amazing this season. It’s just been long overdue for Burnley to get a victory this season, and their first at home since January. Brentford meanwhile have lost three in a row and will be hoping the match against Norwich next weekend will help them start putting more points back on the board. They could quickly slide down the table if they allow more teams to put 3 past them in the first half of a game like Burnley did.
Predicted: Liverpool 3-1 Brighton
Result: Liverpool 2-2 Brighton
Henderson, Mané - Mwepu, Trossard
Once Liverpool has gone 2 ahead, it seemed inevitable they would go on and win the match. Brighton had other ideas though, and their never-give-up attitude really came to the fore. With results elsewhere somewhat going in Liverpools way, this was a match where the experience should have won through. Instead Brighton, like Brentford, did not stop and dominated the midfield battle to break through the lines. Liverpool need their mentality giants back to generate the momentum which shot them to the title. A midweek Champions League win would make them qualified and allow their stars a breather over the final two group games, a great help in the long winter period of games. They will find their swagger, and still reamain the only unbeaten team in the League this season. Brighton are flying high, and really displaying the resolute characteristics needs to not only keep themselves comfortable, but I honestly think they could be a surprise contender for a Europa League Conference position come the end of the season.
Predicted: Man City 2-0 Crystal Palace
Result: Man City 0-2 Crystal Palace
Zaha, Gallagher
Viera will be delighted having gotten one over his previous employers. The high press style is working, and showing the bravery against City to put in hard tackles high up the pitch ensured City struggled to get going. The first goal came from a mistake due to pressure from Gallagher, who himself wrapped up the points. Pep will be disappointed that he let Palace inflict another defeat upon them. His style is well defined and this match shows if the teams is well organised and know how to press, it can stop even the best.
Predicted: Newcastle 1-2 Chelsea
Result: Newcastle 0-3 Chelsea
James x2, Jorginho
With both Liverpool and City dropping points, Chelsea will feel they are becoming the team to beat this season. Three unanswered goals against Newcastle is not too impressive, but the manner in which the whole Chelsea squad performs is. Finding themselves top of the table and already played their biggest rivals, the gap could become bigger over the winter period. Newcastle meanwhile are being linked with former Arsenal and PSG manager Unai Emery, and given his success with Villarreal, it might be a shrewd first appointment.
Predicted: Watford 2-2 Southampton
Result: Watford 0-1 Southampton
Adams
Hasenhuttl is a manager who knows just what the fan base means. He encouraged his players to acknowledge the away support after the match, and finally ensured his team didn’t drop points from a winning position. The manager has a young squad brimming with talent, and will expect things to improve. Watford are still getting to grips with Ranieri and his way of playing. They were flat throughout and would have been very fortunate to get a late goal had it not been for an excellent save from McCarthy.
Predicted: Tottenham 1-2 Man Utd
Result: Tottenham 0-3 Man Utd
Ronaldo, Cavani, Rashford
Ole found the magical formula against Spurs, but there is a reason Nuno has been replaced. Spurs have appointed Conte, who will demand money to spend. Whether this will get Kane firing again, who knows, but Conte has a successful CV so it’s a return to Mourinho level of manager they have gotten. Ole meanwhile managed to arrest the slide, and put his team in a commanding position where they knew what they were doing. Still a long season ahead, and that thrashing by Liverpool won’t be forgotten, but if Ole can string a few good performances and results together he can get away from the scrutiny of the press before the international break. That will involve facing the champions City next weekend, so the pressure is still very much there.
Predicted: Norwich 0-2 Leeds
Result: Norwich 1-2 Leeds
Omobamidele - Raphina, Rodrigo
Norwich have shown once again they are not a Premier League standard team, and after a lackluster first half from both sides, Leeds displayed their talents in the second half. Raphina is showing why he is the star man for Leeds and very deserving of becoming a regular in the Brazil squad. His skill, finesse, and first touch are a delight to watch at times. This was his fourth goal of the season, and with the poise of Kalvin Phillips back, Leeds will hope to kick on from here. Norwich got another goal for their season tally, but ultimitaley they are looking a sorry sight and Ozan Kabak seems to be a particular let down, given his experience with Liverpool last season. Another insteresting dilema for Norwich is what will happen with Gilmour, seeing as he has not started their last five league games. Norwich are in a real fight and need players who can stand up to the fight.
Predicted: Aston Villa 0-2 West Ham
Result: Aston Villa 1-4 West Ham
Watkins - Johnson, Rice, Fornals, Bowen
Declan Rice is on fire, and is probably up there as one of the best midfileders on form in the Premier League. Coupled with the fact Antonio was not on the scoresheet when West Ham score 4, it shows the character and depth of their squad. Another night on European is ahead for them this week, and I expect with their current form another season of European football awaits next year. Congratulations to David Moyes for really creating a strong unit and tema at West Ham. Villa on the other hand have lost four in a row, and are only 3 points above the relegation zone. Its still early in the season but Smith seems the next favourite manager for the chop, especially now Nuno has been replaced. With another International break looming, another defeat next weekend will most likely spell the end for Dean Smiths reign at Villa.
Predicted: Wolves 0-1 Everton
Result: Wolves 2-1 Everton
Kilman, Jiménez - Iwobi
Great result at home for Wolves, but Rafa must be fuming. Going 2 down, albeit to amazing finishes. The dink over Pickford was especially pleasing, as Wolves fans will be relishing himself and Hwang forming a formidable partnership. Everton meanwhile will be hoping Calvert-Lewin will be back to help fire them up the table asap. They have been missing his goals, and once Rafa get January under his belt expect the defence to be standing stronger. Far from a relegation contender, but Rafa wont want to have 3 league defeats in a row on his hands in the next fixtures.
Table After Match Day 10
A look at the top half of the table, with Chelsea taking advantage and opening a gap over Liverpool and City, while it's starting to look congested around the European places.

The bottom meanwhile sees only 7 points between 11th and 18th.

Top Goalscorers After Match Day 10
1 - M. Salah - Liverpool - 10 Goals
2 - J. Vardy - Leicester - 7 Goals
3 - M. Antonio - West Ham - 6 Goals
4 - S. Mané - Liverpool - 6 Goals
I hope you found some enjoyment in my post and managed to see the matches over the weekend. See you all again after the European matches this week.
Have a great day.
Peace. CryptoGod-1.
