Thoughts About Faucets: Does The "Holy Faucet" Exist?

By Arc7icWolf | Crypto&Gaming | 26 Aug 2021

Even today, faucets represents the first step into the cryptocurrencies' world for a lot of people: the idea of being able to get some juicy tokens just for free will always be fascinating and tempting for new crypto-users (let's be serious: rise his hand who doesn't like free crypto!).

However, faucets won't make you rich: sounds rude? Perhaps, but that's the truth and if you want to get over the crypto-train, you'll need to look for your treasure somewhere esle.

This doesn't mean that faucets are useless: au contraire!

Faucets are awesome to start collecting cryptos and to understand how they work: you can learn while "playing" with free money, so you are encouraged to try new things, make experiments, take risks, increase your knowledge.

At least this should be their purpose.

I say "at least" because the more that cryptocurrencies rise in popularity, the less faucets are giving to their users, making often impossible to do something with the tiny amounts of tokens they are giving away.

Don't take me wrong: as I said, faucets can't make you rich and they don't have to, but what's the point of giving away so little that one would need ages just to reach the minimum amount needed to pay for gas fees?

The harsh reality is that today most faucets are only a waste of time, often hiding some sort of "ponzi scheme", and finding one which is really worth your time is like looking for the "Holy Grail".

That's why I would like to start a series of mini-reviews about the best faucets, analysing what are their earning rates per day/month/year, what cryptocurrencies can you claim and how much time and dedication they require to their users.

A clarification: surveys and offerwalls will be excluded from this work, because, in my opinion, they don't fit the concept of "faucet", since they usually take a lot of time to be completed, while a faucet should be something easy and fast ("claim-and-forget" sounds good?).

The criteria I will stick are the following:

  • Tokens (value in dollar) given per claim;
  • Time between claims;
  • Withdrawal limits;
  • Usability.

I sincerely think that improving our awareness and knowledge of faucets, learning to dintinguish a good one from a bad one, will be helpful not only for new (and old) crypto-owners, but also for faucets themself, helping the best ones to shine, while encouraging the bad ones to improve and catch up with the best standards.

To make everything easier and cleaner, links to all the reviews will be gathered in one place (this post): the list will be updated everytime a new article is published and every article will contain the link to this post.

Also, notice that, where available, the url to the faucet is my referral link: if you don't want to use it, feel free to google the name of the sites.

As a final note, everything I write is my subjective and personal opinion; I'm open to comments, criticisms, suggestions and improvements! If you don't agree with me, feel free to tell me in the comment section: we are here to improve together :)
