What Should I Do? Providing Liquidity, Buying Cards or CA Packs?
Thanks to the excitement and new features that came with the release of the Conclave Arcana set, my situation on Splinterlands is currently at one of its best moments: investing in the Archons from the Rebellion set turned out to be a great move, thanks to which I now own assets worth over 300 dollars and generate a passive income of around 200 DEC per day.
Part of this income – 1000 DEC – is reinvested every 15 days into buying SPS, helping me reach my next accumulation goal for this token more quickly: 20,000 SPS staked – how nice it is to remind myself that I finally have a new goal and I’ve surpassed 10,000 SPS! :)
However, I still have about 4000 DEC available each month that I need to figure out how to use... and in that regard, three options come to mind:
- Providing liquidity to one or more pools
- Buying cards with high ROI when rented
- Purchasing packs from the new Conclave Arcana set
Providing Liquidity
Let’s start with the first idea, which actually came from @tsnaks who made me think about it in a comment on one of my previous posts: providing liquidity to a pool that includes the DEC token and one of the resources generated by the Land – specifically, grain.
Grain is a resource that is very likely to become increasingly scarce, because initially everyone was producing only that, whereas now many other resources are being produced too, which has significantly reduced grain production.
Moreover, many users have shown with data in hand that the current consumption of grain is bound to heavily affect the amount of this resource available on the market, as more is being consumed than produced.
This means that grain could appreciate over time and therefore:
- be a good investment in general
- cause a shift in the DEC/GRAIN ratio in favor of the latter
So if I were to provide liquidity to the DEC/GRAIN pair, I could not only earn from the fees generated by the use of that pool, but also see my DEC increase due to the rise in the value of grain.
A simple strategy, in my opinion, with a low risk profile.
Buying Cards
The second option is a continuation of what I was already doing: making targeted purchases to expand my collection and increase my ability to generate passive income.
Thanks to SplinterROI I can easily identify which cards are most frequently rented on the market and assess their ROI:
This way, I could increase the DEC I earn each day and more easily buy new cards, aiming to make my passive income more and more significant and useful.
Again, there are no particular risks here, especially since I would be purchasing cards from the last two expansions, which will still be in high demand for a long time among those who want to play in the Modern Format.
Buying CA Packs
The last thing I could do is buy packs from the Conclave Arcana set, specifically the Starter packs.
The Starter packs are very cheap – 1000 DEC – and at the moment, if you buy enough of them, there's a high chance of getting cards worth more than the price paid.
They seem like the best choice – immediate gain and new cards to rent – but, as @libertycrypto27 rightly always reminds us, the profit becomes more likely the more packs you buy. On the other hand, if you only buy a few, there's no guarantee you'll fall within the average outcome suggested by the data: in fact, you could easily end up with cards worth far less.
Since I currently only have enough to buy 8 packs, this strategy seems to be the riskiest one.
It’s certainly the most fun too though... especially because it’s been a while since I opened some packs and the temptation is strong!
Deciding won’t be easy, but keeping DEC in my account unused makes no sense, so whether it’s today, tomorrow, or in three days – I must act!

Che Cosa Dovrei Fare? Fornire Liquidità, Comprare Carte o Pacchetti CA?
Grazie alle novità ed all'entusiasmo che hanno caratterizzato il rilascio del nuovo set Conclave Arcana, la mia situazione su Splinterlands è in uno dei suoi momenti migliori: investire negli Arconto del set Rebellion si è rivelata un'ottima mossa, grazie alla quale in questo momento possiedo assets per un valore superiore ai 300 dollari e genero una rendita passiva di circa 200 DEC al giorno.
Parte di questa rendita - 1000 DEC - viene ogni 15 giorni reinvestita nell'acquisto di SPS, così da aiutarmi a raggiungere più velocemente il mio prossimo obiettivo di accumulo per questo token, ossia 20.000 SPS staked - quanto è bello ricordarmi che finalmente ho un nuovo obiettivo ed ho superato i 10.000 SPS! :)
Mi restano però disponibili circa 4000 DEC al mese che devo capire come voglio utilizzare... e, a tale, riguardo, mi vengono in mente tre possibilità:
- Fornire liquidità ad una o più pool
- Comprare carte con un alto ROI in caso di noleggio
- Acquistare pacchetti del nuovo set Conclave Arcana
Fornire liquidità
Parto dalla prima idea, che in realtà non è mia ma di @tsnaks che mi ci ha fatto ragionare in un commento ad un mio precedente post, ossia fornire liquidità ad una delle pool che comprendono il token DEC ed una delle risorse generate dalla Land, ed in particolare con il grano.
Il grano è infatti una risorsa che, molto probabilmente, è destinata a diventare sempre più scarsa, perchè inizialmente tutti producevano solo quello, mentre adesso vengono prodotte anche molte altre risorse, con conseguente forte diminuzione della produzione di grano.
Non solo, molti utenti hanno dimostrato, dati alla mano, come l'attuale consumo di grano sia destinato ad incidere fortemente sulla quantità di questa risorsa presente sul mercato, dato che ne viene consumata più di quanta ne venga prodotta.
Ciò significa che il grano potrebbe nel tempo apprezzarsi e quindi:
- essere in generale un buon investimento
- provocare una variazione nel rapporto DEC/GRAIN in favore del secondo
Se io quindi andassi a fornire liquidità alla coppia DEC/GRAIN potrei non solo guadagnare dalle commissioni generate dall'utilizzo di questa pool, ma anche vedere aumentare sempre più il mio DEC a causa dell'aumento del valore del grano.
Una strategia semplice e con un profilo di rischio, a mio avviso basso.
Acquistare carte
La seconda opzione è invece il prosieguo di quello che già stavo facendo prima, ossia incrementare con acquisti mirati la mia collezione e la mia capacità di generare una rendita passiva.
Grazie a SplinterROI posso infatti facilmente identificare quali siano le carte più noleggiate sul mercato e valutare il loro ROI:
In questo modo potrei aumentare i DEC che ogni giorno ottengo ed acquistare più facilmente nuove carte, puntando a rendere la mia rendita sempre più importante ed utile.
Anche qui non ci sono rischi particolari, soprattutto perchè andrei ad acquistare carte delle ultime due espansioni che, ancora per molto tempo, saranno molto richieste da chiunque voglia giocare nel Modern Format.
Comprare pacchetti CA
L'ultima cosa che potrei fare è acquistare pacchetti del set Conclave Arcana, ed in particolare gli Starter packs.
Gli Starter packs costano infatti molto poco - 1000 DEC - e al momento hanno, se se ne acquistano abbastanza, una alta probabilità di far ottenere carte di valore maggiore rispetto a quello pagato.
Sembrano la scelta migliore - guadagno immediato e nuove carte da poter noleggiare - ma, come giustamente ricorda sempre anche @libertycrypto27, il guadagno diventa tanto più probabile quanti più pacchi si acquistano. Viceversa, se se ne acquistano pochi, non è affatto detto di ricadere nel caso medio descritto dai dati: anzi, si potrebbe facilmente ritrovarsi con carte che valgono molto meno.
Considerato che adesso io ho a disposizione solo il necessario a compare 8 pacchetti, questa strategia sembra perciò quella più rischiosa.
Certamente è anche quella più divertente però... anche perchè è tanto che non apro qualche pacchetto e la tentazione è forte!
Decidersi non sarà facile, ma conservare inutilmente del DEC nel mio account non ha senso, per cui che sia oggi, domani o tra tre giorni, in ogni bisogna che agisca!
