My Favourite Strategies as a Beginner

A few days ago a new user of Splinterlands asked me for advice on what were the best cards he could rent to improve his in-game performance and climb the ranks of the early Leagues more easily.

Thinking back to the days when I was also a player with few cards at my disposal, I therefore asked myself:

“What are the easiest and most effective strategies when one has a small collection? And what cards are needed to execute them?”

And here I am finding out now about the existence of a new Splinterlands Challenge specifically dedicated to this topic... a real blessing :)

So here are my favorite strategies on Splinterlands when I was a novice player - not that I'm much better now, but at least I have more funds and cards at my disposal 😂

Full Magic with Obsidian!

The first strategy to start with would definitely be the one that revolves around the Chaos Legion Summoner of Nature Obsidian, which confers +1 to the magic attacks of our creatures.

Magic attacks are indeed extremely strong, because they cannot miss the target and ignore the Armor of enemy creatures.

True, there are situations where both of these things can change, but at the lowest levels it is rare to find creatures with the necessary abilities to counter a magical attack or decrease its effectiveness.

The large number of low-priced cards available in the Chaos Legion and Reward sets makes this strategy perfect for those who have just started playing and want to climb the ranks easily without having to spend much.

The Uncatchable Djinn

Another very famous and simple strategy relies on the versatility of Kelya Frendul, which makes our creatures more resistant and harder to hit, and the strength of Djinn Oshannus.

The latter, in fact, thanks to its void ability halves the damage taken by magical attacks, while thanks to its speed can often dodges all melee or ranged attacks it receives.

Then, if a card such as Merdaali Guardian is there to support him in the rearguard, possibly at level 5, where she also acquires the repair ability, the chances of the opponent being able to break through our defenses are really low, especially at lower levels.

Power over Death

To conclude, one of my favorite card combinations: Thaddius Brood, which reduces all magic attacks suffered by 1, and Cursed Windeku, a creature that for only 6 mana offers a lot of Health, the thorns ability that shreds enemy melee attackers, and, from level 5 onward, the heal ability, thanks to which it constantly regenerates its Health.

In low mana battles, which are very common in the lower Leagues, this simple combo has granted me countless victories over the years.

Very little is needed to have fun!

At first Splinterlands may seem like an extremely difficult game, where you need to spend a lot of money to win and have fun ...

... but this is not the case!

At least at the lower levels, the very high amount of cheap rental cards makes it possible to create very powerful combinations right from the start, ones capable of defeating many opponents without the slightest effort.

Moreover, the Chaos Legion and Reward sets, thanks to the huge amount of cards available, give easy access also to very strong legendary cards, thanks to which one can make his or her strategies even more lethal and versatile.

Le Mie Strategie Preferite da Principiante

Qualche giorno fa ho un nuovo utente di Splinterlands mi ha chiesto consigli su quali fossero le migliori carte che poteva noleggiare per migliorare le sue prestazioni di gioco, scalando più facilmente le classifiche delle prime Leghe.

Ripensando ai tempi in cui anch'io ero un giocatore con poche carte a disposizione, mi sono perciò chiesto:

"Quali sono le strategie più semplici ed efficaci quando si ha una collezione modesta? E quali carte occorrono per metterle in atto?"

Ed ecco che ora scopro l'esistenza di una nuova Challenge su Splinterlands dedicata proprio a questo argomento... una vera fortuna :)

Ecco perciò le mie strategie preferite su Splinterlands quando ero un giocatore alle prime armi - non che ora sia molto meglio, ma almeno ho più fondi e carte a disposizione 😂

A Tutta Magia con Obsidian!

La prima strategia da cui partire sarebbe sicuramente quella che ruota attorno all'Evocatore Chaos Legion della Natura Obsidian, che conferisce +1 all'attacco magico delle nostre creature.

Gli attacchi magici sono infatti estremamente forti, perchè non possono mancare il bersaglio ed ignorano l'Armatura delle creature nemiche.

E' vero, ci sono situazioni in cui entrambe queste cose possono cambiare, ma ai livelli più bassi è raro trovare creature con le abilità necessarie per contrastare un attacco magico o diminuirne l'efficacia.

Il gran numero di carte a disposizione a basso prezzo nei set Chaos Legion e Reward rende questa strategia perfetta per chi ha iniziato a giocare da poco e vuole scalare le classifiche facilmente senza dover spendere chissà che.

L'inafferabile Djinn

Un'altra strategia molto famosa e semplice si affida alla versatilità di Kelya Frendul, che rende le nostre creature più resistenti e difficili da colpire, ed alla forza di Djinn Oshannus.

Quest'ultimo, infatti, grazie all'abilità void dimezza i danni subiti dagli attacchi magici, mentre grazie alla sua velocità schiva spesso tutti gli attacchi corpo a corpo o da distanza ricevuti.

Se a supportarlo nelle retrovie c'è poi una carta come Merdaali Guardian, magari al livello 5, dove acquisisce anche l'abilità repair, le possibilità che l'avversario riesca a sfondare le nostre difese sono veramente basse, soprattutto ai livelli più bassi.

Potere sopra la Morte

Per concludere, una delle mie combinazioni di carte preferite: Thaddius Brood, che riduce di 1 tutti gli attacchi magici subiti, e Cursed Windeku, una creatura che per soli 6 mana offre un sacco di Salute, l'abilità thorns che riduce a brandelli gli attaccanti corpo a corpo nemici, e, dal livello 5 in poi, l'abilità heal, grazie alla quale rigenera costantemente la sua Salute.

Nelle battaglie con poco mana a disposizione, molto comuni nelle Leghe più basse, questa semplice combo mi ha garantito negli anni innumerevoli vittorie.

Basta davvero poco per divertirsi!

All'inizio Splinterlands può sembrare un gioco estremamente complicato, dove per vincere e divertirsi serve spendere davvero tanto...

... ma non è così!

Quantomeno ai livelli più bassi l'altissima quantità di carte da noleggiare a basso prezzo consente di creare fin da subito combinazioni molto potenti, capaci di sbaragliare molti avversari senza il minimo sforzo.

Il set Chaos Legion e Reward, inoltre, grazie alla enorme quantità di carte a disposizione, danno facilmente accesso anche a carte leggendarie molto forti, grazie alle quali rendere le proprie strategie ancora più letali e versatili.
