Despite being a meme coin, Banano actually has some solid fundamentals and projects build on top of it - projects like Jungle TV which lets users earn crypto by watching Youtube videos.
As a currency it's basically the same as $NANO, so instant transactions with zero fees on a spam-resistant DAG capable of processing micro-transactions 6 million times more energy efficient than the BTC blockchain.
There are no fees on transactions, no mining, and the DAG can theoretically process thousands of transactions per second.
Basically everything that is true and good about $NANO is true of $BANANO with the exception of decentralization, which is happening, just slowly, explained one Redditor.
Banano thrives to be a gateway for people that do not know anything about Cryptocurrencies or think that the barrier for entry is too high, as it demands some technical skills.
Banano solves these issues by distributing the coin freely and easily using a couple of different mediums, games being one of them.
Banano is even loved by Billy Markus, creator of Dogecoin, who is known by his saying crypto is a „get rich quick cult“ to „extract money from the desperate and naive“.
When hearing about Banano, Markus said he really likes that Banano enthusiasts have a method of mining that contributes to medical research, and that there's a tipping culture in Banano subreddit, adding that he thinks that it is one of the best ways to spread kindness and also name recognition.
Banano was even a coin of choice for many Venezuelans when facing high inflation.
As one Venezuelan explained, many of his countryman were chasing Banano airdrops on Discord as monthly rewards were four times higher than the minimum monthly salary in Venezuela, and thanks to that Banano saved life for many Venezuelans.
