The news has been official for a couple of days, communicated by means of a post on the company's official blog, starting from the third quarter of this year BitTorrent will start the first tests for a blockchain streaming platform that will take the name of Blive; the tests should be completed by the end of the year and the new platform should be released in a stable version by the first quarter of 2020.
As we have already written in several other posts, the project for a token attached to BitTorrent (recently acquired by TRON) is one of the most interesting in circulation, with the confirmation of the launch of Blive a true ecosystem is created with unique characteristics of its kind; decentralized payments, file sharing, the possibility of creating Dapps, online streaming, all on a single infrastructure.

Given that in any case being able to carve out a position of leadership in the online streaming market, already decidedly saturated, it is not a simple thing to be sure that companies like google will have received the news with a certain uneasiness; if there is someone who can succeed in undermining youtube from his dominated position this is just Justin Sun who, admittedly, is doing an extraordinary job. In fact, BitTorrent boasts more than 100mn of active users in the world, a figure that however begins to seem likely that it can increase very rapidly in the coming months as the various projects are physically launched.
While politics, media and journalists continue to keep the spotlight lit on a book, a project still on the high seas and that seems to proceed in a very chaotic manner, we lose sight of a project like TRON that instead is growing steadily and consistent with the objectives company, enjoying the support of the Chinese government (while libra is not frowned upon by practically anyone) and showing that it has all the credentials to stand the test of time.
