Is Hive the first network state? A network state is defined by Balaji Srinivasan in his book by that title. First and foremost, it’s an online community, but the interesting thing about Srinivasan’s definition is that it achieves such respectable status as an online community that it is able to crowdfund territory acquisitions through collective action AND gains diplomatic recognition from pre-existing states. As far as I know, Hive has no intention of acquiring physical territory and it certainly has not yet gained diplomatic recognition from any pre-existing state. Nevertheless, the article is an interesting read.
HBD interest payouts for November 2022. The fact that Hive even pays interest on HBD is a good thing. One more reason to use the platform, create content, and move beyond business as usual in content creation.
