Airdrops on SUI have been very different compared to other chains as they do not give preferential treatment to whales and focus on rewarding even the small users who are active. DEEP gave 4 figure airdrops even to users who had staked a single SUI on their wallets.
SUI NS and the latest SUI Lend airdrops were decent size too even for regular users like me. I have a strong feeling 2025 is going to be a strong year for SUI, both in terms of projects growing on the chain plus the rewards and airdrops for regular users.
In this post I will be covering Kriya platform on SUI and why I think it’s airdrop early in 2025 might be one of the biggest for the coming year.
I always focus on airdrops that are free to participate but this time I am going to make an exception for Kriya as it requires minting their Native NFT to be eligible for the airdrop but I think this NFT will have long term use case for their platform so will be worth minting.
What Exactly is Kriya?
Kriya calls itself as “1-Stop DeFI Protocol on SUI” as it offers a wide range of DEX services like Swapping, Liquidity pools, Lending. It keeps adding the new coins and projects to the list of pools. It already has options to lend or borrow SUI based sSUI, vSUI and mSUI which shows it is collaborating with other project running on SUI.
It is running a rewards program with Score of MAYA points which are awarded for interactions on the platform through swapping, lending etc. The more MAYA points you earn higher will be your eligibility for their future airdrop of $KDX tokens.
Kriya is like a hidden gem in the SUI ecosystem as there are not too many people farming the airdrop. I recently started interacting on the platform and within 2 days I was in the top 10K users as per the points leaderboard.
Pre-Requisite for Joining the Airdrop!
One of the key requirements for being eligible for the airdrop is that you will need to mint their NFT which costs 5 SUI tokens which is discounted to 2 SUI for people who have a valid referral code. 2 SUI currently is worth about $9 and I think that could be a reason why not many people are grinding for this airdrop. This controls airdrop dilution as Sybil users will be discouraged due to the NFT requirement. Do keep in mind that there is no guarantee on how big the airdrop will be so DYOR before making the decision of minting the 2 SUI NFT. I have decided to mint the NFT as I have seen that most popular NFTs on SUI are gaining value.
Impressive User Interface!
One aspect of the project which really amazed was how sleek the site design is. They have spent considerable efforts in ensuring that use experience in smooth while navigating and making transactions on the platform.
What was really stunning for me was the Chakra effect and the visuals once you advance through the different Chakra levels. You might know that as per the beliefs of Yoga practitioners there are 7 Chakras inside our body and as you become more enlightened the more chakras get activated. Once all your 7 Chakras are activated you become fully enlightened.
Kriya has linked it’s points system to the same Chakra system, as you get more reward points you unlock more chakras. I am currently on 2nd Chakra and so impressed with the graphics that I am interacting regularly to see how the next set of Chakras look.
Referral Program
The project does want the project to be spammed so they have designed it like an exclusive airdrop. When the project is free to participate it gets spammed my millions of accounts many of which are Sybil.
Kriya has put the requirement to mint the NFT worth 2 SUI to control the spam users.
Another control they have put in place is that without a valid referral code it will take 5 SUI to mint the NFT which is about $23 currently.
