When the first app called NotCoin came out with concept of “Tap to Earn”, majority of the crypto folks including most of the big influencers ignored it many called out that there was no way it could sustain as with such a basic gameplay it was sure to be over-farmed.
The app was built into Telegram and once you open it you would see a large coin and the more you tap on it the more your score grows. You can level up so each tap gets you more points. You can join groups and invite people and the more your group taps the better will be your airdrop eligibility. The group does not formally mention any airdrop, in fact they do the reverse. They call their coin “Not Coin”, saying it is not exactly a coin s don’t expect anything from it. They smartly make I the reverse of TON as well being part of that family, smart wordplay in my opinion.
My first instinct was to avoid NotCoin as seemed pointless but then I remembered that I had the same reaction when I first heard about NFTs and Memecoins so I decided that nothing can be too stupid to become the next trend in crypto so I decided to give a shot.
It turned out to be one of the best airdrops of this year as without investing anything and by just opening the app once a couple of days you could get anywhere between $100 to $1,000 depending on how regular you were and if you had grown a big network you might have got an even bigger piece. When everyone dismissed the project NotCoin is sitting comfortably in Top 70 coins by market cap consistently since its launch.
Can Catizen be the Next NotCoin?

I now see many influencers saying that projects that try to copy NotCoin concept of Tap to Earn will fail as such strategies only work once. If I look at history I thought the same about memecoins after the success of Doge but we all know what Shibu did and what a whole army of new memecoins is doing start of 2024. Memecoins are the best performing class of crypto this year.
I seen a bunch of TapCoin copy paste projects but majority are outright garbage. At the moment I am focusing only on one, that is Catizen.
It is due to several factors like:
- You can’t possible find time to play all NotCoin replicas on Telegram
- Catizen has different gameplay which for me is more appealing than others
- They have not made any official airdrop announcements so lower probability of farming the farmers
Game is quite addictive but levelling up gets slower and slower once you reach higher levels. They have the options like CandyCrush to pay your way to level up, I am going to avoid it as I want it to be a zero investment airdrop hustle.

At the moment their Twitter account already has more than million followers so it is no secret project but they keep publishing the players hitting the top leagues and still there are not many people above the Platinum level.
What is My Strategy for Catizen?
I plan to use a similar strategy I used for NotCoin. That is to keep opening the app once every couple of days but not spend too much time on it and not spend any money from my own pocket on it. This way I will not feel devastated if they don’t do an airdrop or it turns out very small. Also if the airdrop is still a few months away I will be able to level up well just by interacting with it regularly as I expect most people to lose interest after a few days.
If this seems like a project you would like to try out for yourself then feel free to use my referral link - https://t.me/catizenbot/gameapp?startapp=r_458_25834172
Remember that you need a Telegram account to play this game and my advise is not to spend more than 5 mins a day on this. More important will be to access it regularly once every few days.
Cheers,
Sam
