I have been closely involved with SUI since it’s testnet days. The airdrop was disappointing  for a major part of the community so many of them left after the airdrop but I decided to stick around as their associated group called MystenLabs regularly launched quests where for performing basic tasks you got decent rewards. I must point out that during this phase last year nobody considered SUI a hot token. People were more focused on the upcoming launches for ZK Sync, LayerZero, Scroll etc. These quest rewards from SUI were also usually in the range of $25-$50 per season so it did not really attract a lot of people.

SUI was also struggling around the price range of $0.5 so it did not catch the radar of most crypto enthusiasts.

One thing however which I noticed about the SUI ecosystem was that despite not getting a lot of attention there were many projects building continuously in a dedicated manner on SUI. The regular quests prompted the DeFI, Gaming, NFT projects running on SUI. They created small incentives for people to stick around with SUI and hold onto their NFTs even after the NFT craze fizzled out in the broader markets.

Why is SUI Getting so much Attention Now?

SUI as an ecosystem was lurking in the background but things changed rapidly during the last 3 months to such an extent that there are now many people who seriously consider that SUI is going to outperform Solana in 2025.

SUI gained a lot of interest when 2 big projects on it DEEP and SUI-NS announced airdrops and they did it through an innovative way. Eligible users received NFTs airdropped to their wallets inscribed with the amount of token they were eligible to claim. Once the airdrop went live they could burn the NFT and the tokens will be transferred to their account. 

DEEP was awarded to everyone who regularly interacted on SUI with a big bonus for people who had staked SUI for a long time. Even small players like me got big airdrop allocations upwards of $3,000 which was huge at that time as people had assumed that the days of big airdrops were over. 

What Am I Targeting on SUI for 2025?

SUI now has a market cap close to $13B and I continue to hold a decent bag as I think it has further upside in the bull run. 

I am also focusing on the following projects on SUI as I think they have a good chance of outperforming the markets once the bull market peaks.

Before going further I would like to make it clear that like always DYOR and do not take my strategy as financial advice as this is my third bull run in crypto and I know what risk levels I can manage.

• SUI DEXes- As SUI blockchain will gain attention more people would want to move funds in and get exposure to some of the projects. This will create demand for the DEXes running on SUI. Many of them are running their own rewards program and I recently wrote a blog on how you will be rewarded in SUI for borrowing tokens on SUILend platform. So basically you get interest free loan of tokens which you can deposit on other platforms for their rewards and also earn some extra SUI tokens as reward for borrowing. The more platforms you interact will further improve your eligibility for future airdrops. My favourite DEXes on SUI are Turbos, SUILend and Scallop.

• SUI OG Projects- Once more funds start flowing into SUI blockchain the first targets for new investors will be the OG projects which have been going strong for over 2 years now. These include their OG NFTs like Capy and Bullshark which were used as an eligibility criteria to participate in the quests launched by MystenLabs. I will also recommend minting an ID on SUI NS (similar to ENS). SUI-NS has already done an airdrop but I feel there is a strong chance holding SUI-NS will improve chance for future airdrops.

• SUI Memecoins- The OG meme coin on SUI is FUD the PUG which I have been holding for over a year now. It has not seen any major pumps but that might happen once the bull run gets stronger. Other memes I am accumulating are AXOL, BLUB and SUIYAN. Of these my riskiest bet is SUIYAN as it has a market cap of just $2M but it also has the highest upside if the project grows.

One Special SUI Under the Radar Gem!

Before I close this post I would like to mention a Gaming project running on SUI which has a really addictive gameplay and for some reason they are not doing any marketing or promotion for it at all. One reason is that the Devs are Japanese so they can not make any tweets or posts in English. Despite this the user base keeps growing solely on word of mouth of players who like this game.

Gameplay involves catching fish and as you collect more fishes you are rewarded better Fishing Rods which are NFTs so can be traded with other players. 

I think once this game get more popular the price of higher end Fishing Rod NFTs will explode. There is also a good chance of a future airdrop.
