Perhaps there are beginners like me here. To the "sharks" of the crypto world, this post might seem primitive, so I urge you not to judge but to share your experiences (it would be great to get some advice too :)).
I’m going to write about airdrops.
It’s the easiest way. Though my social media accounts are already "crying," so to speak :).

Airdrops seem like the most accessible way to get cryptocurrency without spending your own money. But this process has its pitfalls.
In this post, I'll share my experience, and also how airdrops are helping me on my way to crypto independence.

Airdrop is a process. And a process involves actions. So, crypto projects distribute their tokens for free, but nothing comes without a cost. Here, there’s an "exchange of energy": completing simple tasks (mostly social media activities).
It turns out there are several types of airdrops. There’s a "product for every buyer," so to speak: standard and exclusive ones (given only to a specific group of users).

The infrastructure in the crypto world, in my opinion, is well-developed. There are special platforms that track airdrops: AirdropAlert, CoinMarketCap, Airdrop Tracker (these are the ones I found). Of course, there are also Telegram channels, crypto forums, and Twitter.
We can also add services like Binance's "Earn," where you can get tokens for completing simple tasks. And I really trust Binance.

Airdrops are usually free, but there are many scammers out there. So, it’s very important to verify the sources of information about the drops. You could lose not only access to your crypto wallet but everything in it.
By the way, wise people advise creating new or temporary wallets for airdrops.
I’ve already had my experience with scammers (I wrote about it in posts 6 and 7). I hope that’s where my bad experiences will stop :).
By the way, I’ve heard (but haven't yet figured it out) that there are special programs like Ledger or Trezor that allow you to store wallet keys.

So, airdrops have both pros and cons. Pros: no financial cost (not always), the possibility of getting tokens that could increase in value over time.
Cons: as I’ve discovered, not all tokens have value or trading volume, and sometimes you need to spend time checking and participating without any guarantees of receiving a valuable asset.

What’s next? I haven’t gotten to that point yet. It still feels like a fantasy.
But let me remind myself (and write to you too): once, for example, chess seemed difficult to me. I never thought I’d play. Until… until I started playing with my sons. And sometimes the games were even successful...

...because of this damned war, my children are now far away from me. It’s hard. Painful. But it’s a blessing that at least we have this. We Ukrainians have a unique perspective on happiness.
May no good person ever experience the kind of intense pain my nation is living through right now.

What do airdrops have to do with this? Simply put, I have a reason to develop in crypto. I want to be able to see my children. I want to donate to the earthly Angels who are currently sacrificing their lives to stop this tide of evil.

I’ll be grateful for your thoughts and support. Please share your advice and recommendations.

Together, we can create a safe community that helps each other.
