Happy spooky season, everyone. I was greeted by this scary notification from the Brave browser:
Action required: Connect a custodial account or your [virtual Basic Attention Token] vBAT will be lost
On October 30, 2023 at 8:00 PM, we will be discontinuing support for existing virtual BAT balances. Connect a custodial account before this date so we can transfer your earned balance to your custodial account, otherwise your balance will be lost.
It's true. I haven't created a custodial account. The value of Brave's BAT has not given me an incentive to risk my personal data with their partnered custodians.
So, what should I do? It appears I can still send my vBAT via the Brave browser plugin. I'd like to donate it to a non-profit. Please comment below with your suggestions of reputable non-profits who accept vBAT. I'd love to donate it before it flies away!
