Brave - still no signs of life

By Steven_BA | Crypto-Newbie | 26 Oct 2020

I already discussed about Brave's failure to normally function in my previous post Brave collapse - the end of a still young emperor and I thought that the problem would be fixed already. Nope, it seems that Brave's developers took vacation and went away. The problem is still there and now, is even more annoying than it was few days ago. After four more days, Brave is like an old man who is barely crawling.

I read all the comments from my previous post and I was actively involved in answering all of them, mostly in order to try to find a solution to this problem. I couldn't find one. There was a comment where the user suggested to install the latest Brave update - I did that, actually twice (there were two updates two days in a row) and nothing happened. If I turn the shield off, some of the website are working, but not all of them.

I even tried to read all types of information from Brave Community. Still, couldn't find any solution. Instead, I've realized that this captcha problem is older, but nobody fixed it.

Due to this captcha problem I was not able to claim my daily PipeFlare reward, so I broke the chain after 17 days. I slide right to complete the puzzle and the only thing I get is an error. C'est la vie!

While using Brave I still have to repeat the captcha code and it seems that it takes forever. When I use Chrome or Samsung Internet, my FreeCryptos claims work but with lots of ads. Stakecube is working quite good on Brave, with 3-4 captcha reps. So I don't understand why Brave needs infinite recaptcha attempts to login when using the browser with shield off. Honestly, in situations like this I wish Brave to have the audio recaptcha instead of clicking the squares.

**I'm really starting questioning myself if I'm really human :) :) :).

So far into the game I have experienced two types of failing captcha.

  • the normal captcha type where I have to insert a word or slide to the right in order to verify my human condition
  • the stupid squares where I have to either select something or to wait for those fading situations which sometimes even last minutes.

The more I read about Brave, the more disappointed I am. I also read among those comments left to my previous post, that Brave tried to become like a superhero browser without having the necessary infrastructure in order to continue to develop. Once it reached it max level, it collapsed. It's free, I know. It's available to everyone, I know. It's user-friendly, I know. But I don't care. Looking at this from an user perspective (mine) I want to use the best of the best not a crippled browser that generates more problems than solutions.

I think that the problem with captcha is not necessarily related to Brave protecting my privacy. It's more about its structure, how it was build, its capacity In short terms, bad coding.
