WAX Blockchain: Taco Brigade Play2Earn Game

One of the easiest play to earn games available in the WAX Blockchain has been provided by Taco for a while now, namely Brigade. However, as covered below, Brigade is a bit more than just a user click-and-pay web page. It's one side of a bigger project.

Game Mechanics

Brigade, created by Taco, is an entry point for the starter user to enjoy getting involved in the Taco world, earn it's basic token, Shing, and expand from there. In many ways, Brigade could even be a bit of a loss leader, similar to how a big warehouse grocery store, Costco, uses vehicle low cost fuel and hotdogs to bring customers in the door. The concept is simple: have players engage with Taco by connecting their WAX account to the Brigade page.

They use Brigade NFTs to increase their ability to earn SHING by staking them into the game. When doing so, depending on the rarity of the NFT, the user then gets a payout of SHING every one to three hours, depending how many NFTs are staked. The NFTs can be bought on the secondary market with the big three platforms (AtomicHub, NeftyBlocks, or NFTHive).

The player has to choose a Venue to work for. These are listed in the game under the screen menu. Once chosen, the player then can earn from that venue every cycle he or she goes to work.

A player can stake up to three NFTs in Brigade. They need to be special Brigade NFTs known as "Brigade Equipment."  Depending on the luck and power ratings of the given equipment in an NFT, then the user earns more or less SHING when staked in Brigade. Obviously, those with more luck and power are rarer, harder to get, but pay off better each cycle. That said, the amount one earns isn't the same.

Venues

Taco Venues are run by players who own a venue NFT and have increased it's level up to the requisite 100 to then hire workers. Venue NFTs earn shing on the natural when stakes into Taco, but they have the ability to access workers once increased. Venue owners pay Taco token to increase their venue levels sufficient to reach the employer stage. When that happens, the owner then gets access to the SHING pool that can be used to pay workers. Venue owners can also drop reward NFTs randomly on players through the venue as well. This occasional rewards makes some venues more attractive than others, which in turn helps them grow. A number of Discord communities add rewards to a select venue for their project.

What to Look For

Again, as a Brigade worker/player, the goal is to stay on top of work cycles and have the best level NFTs possible. Some people choose one NFT for a one-hour cycle due to additional discord server rewards in specific groups, and others go three for a three-hour cycle. It depends what the benefit is. There's no set rule for everyone.

How Much to Earn?

It's quite reasonable to earn anywhere from 50 to 400 SHING per cycle, depending how a player sets up their NFTs. Keep in mind, the amount of SHING payout tends to be biggest at the beginning of the day's venue pool and then it decreases from there. And, it's quite possible at the end of a day to get 0 for a SHING reward. The game is not broken; there simply is no SHING left in that venue's pool.

What Do I Do With SHING?

As a WAX token, it can be converted with a WAX Blockchain swap to any other WAX token. I personally convert mine to TACO token and then stake it to earn more TACO.

The Taco swap website also offers staking and liquidity pools separate from the Brigade game. Over time, the amount one earns can grow substantially if stacked and saved. See my other article on Taco Liquidity Pools and how that works. The Taco Discord server also regularly gives away SHING and occasionally TACO, so there's even more to add to the mix. Happy Taco working!
