HBAR: the fast and sustainable alternative to blockchain
Hedera Hashgraph is a public network designed to overcome the limitations of traditional blockchains. It doesn’t use blocks or mining, but a system called Hashgraph, which can process thousands of transactions per second with minimal cost and almost zero environmental impact.
The HBAR token is used to pay for transactions and secure the network. Behind the project are Leemon Baird, the inventor of the Hashgraph algorithm, and Mance Harmon, a former executive in the tech industry.
Unlike many cryptocurrencies, Hedera’s governance is entrusted to a council of major international companies — including Google, IBM, LG, and Boeing — which operate the main nodes and ensure transparency and stability.
Hedera’s goal is clear: to become the digital infrastructure for real-world applications — from instant payments to asset tokenization — combining speed, security, and trust.
