It is nice to finally getting a bit of extra time to actually sit down and write. This last month has been absolutely crazy for me. I work in the grocery industry which sets me in the category of essential people within the work force. The unfortunate part is that despite the whole scary business of COVID-19 people still have to keep eating which meant for most of March and looks to similar for most of April I was and will be working longer hours leaving almost no time to do anything after work. Last week we finally got the help we needed to keep the shelves mostly stocked (unless you need TP or hand sanitizer) with a bunch of temp workers. At last I am back to my normal 40 hour weeks and actually getting days off. What does that mean? I can fit some time in for writing once again!
Despite all of having to be at work a lot throughout the last month and the little extra time left over that didn't stop my trading with crypto just slowed it down drastically and totally messed up my experiment for March. For the most part I stuck to minor tinkering with my portfolio and increasing my positions on XRP, Stellar, and Ethereum while they were down during the first couple weeks of the virus creating epic financial chaos. I also took the opportunity to buy some BTC as close to the bottom of the major drop cutting the value in half.
I won't lie my portfolio looked terrible for a good portion of March when it came to its actual total value of my assets. Really, I was totally okay with that even though it truly stinks seeing red everywhere and down trending graphs. I know for a fact if it had happened to look like this a couple years ago I might have panicked and sold, but with a more solid grasp of what cryptos do and the expectation of volatile action I felt more comfortable just holding and buying the dip than I expected. Actually, it felt great to be honest.
So you might ask what exactly has changed in how my assets are set up? Really, not much outside of acquiring BTC. The major thing is that I did not purchase the entire portion added to my portfolio since 25% of the BTC value was a payout from Cointiply and 1% from a payout through CryptoTab Browser. I still have a little to transfer over from my browser mining at some point this week once things get fully sorted out with moving other assets around which gives me a little more time to perhaps mine a bit more in the mean time. Not a bad thing really when all said and done. Seriously, who doesn't want a few more Satoshi? If you answered yes - then either you are crazy or don't invest anything into BTC. Speaking of which I'll probably improve my position some more once my next pay check comes in.
Besides adding the BTC to my portfolio that I will have to ultimately decide later on if it was a good idea or not is two weeks ago I purchased a couple Chainlink through Coinbase. At present I intend to keep it long enough to recoup the damn trading fee that I forgot they tack on. However, if it continues to have a consistent upward move like I have seen over the last few days I may just hold on to it or even buy more if it dips just depending on how comfortable I feel with it. Right now my gut says to hold so that's exactly what I am going to do and watch where it goes.
The other token is Nano which I have had in the past and sold for a tiny profit, however this time around I did not buy it at a bad time or for that matter spend anything to get the 3.25 Nano because a 100% of this came from a faucet. I intend to sell off the Nano once again, but this time getting a full profit out of it once it hits my desired price point. The only sticking point at the moment is I'm not entirely sure its worth it to move it to an exchange since the only one I am aware of that will trade it is Uphold and they really aren't super user friendly about moving things around or in and out of their system. If there is a better option I am totally open to exploring it. If you happen to know of any I would definitely appreciate you guys adding the info as a comment.
One final change as minor as it may seem it helps tidy things up and that was finally getting around the bottleneck I had with the Doge that had been stuck in my portfolio for nearly three months. You better believe I did a little happy dance this morning when I finally got rid of it in exchange for Ethereum. At this point I would normally put up a screenshot of my holdings and the percentages, but since I am still tinkering with how I want it and figuring out how to trade and/or exchange a couple more assets and moving some back in I feel that I need to hold off for now and do a separate post on its final look. At the moment it is changing frequently as I tinker with things and in general just getting a better idea of how much of each currency should be held.
That pretty much describes what I have been doing over the last few weeks and most of the changes really have happened over the last three or four days for that matter. I have a couple other new things to get to, but they will better off having their own separate post over this next week or so when I have fully committed to actually getting everything sorted out in order to better distribute my holding to properly start getting some better returns through a couple DeFi options that I am currently looking into and fully commit some assets to. That should be an adventure if nothing else. Until next time. Stay safe, trade well, and keep having fun in wild west of the crypro wold. I for one will be taking some time to play a few old friends in my gaming library and kill some pesky mobs rather than taking it out on stupid freaked out customers when not working on my portfolio.
