BNB Factor Yield farm, read the fine print!

By Hepatic | Crypto Exchanges and Pools | 28 Sep 2021

I'm sure a lot of y'all have seen the links and post for BNB Factor, a new type of yield farm.  At first glance it looks great, up to 4% daily returns for staking your BNB (Binance coin).  I've dabbled in FARM and Pancake yield farming and syrup pools so I thought I would check it out.

If you are not familiar with staking your crypto, you basically loan it out to an entity for a percentage return and that return is an APR (yearly) rate.  so at first the 4% daily return look really great (that is for a 40 day stake, "forever" staking yields 2%).  Now for the "fine print" if you go to the dashboard for BNB Factor (link below) you will see this:

"Read before use

The principal deposit cannot be withdrawn, the only return users can get are daily dividends and referral rewards. Payments is possible only if contract balance have enough BNB. Please analyze the transaction history and balance of the smart contract before investing. High risk - high profit, DYOR"

So if I'm reading this correctly, your initial BNB deposit no longer belongs to you!  In other words, you have to draw this daily interest long enough to recover your initial investment BEFORE you earn any profit!  Or return is also linked to their "affiliate" referral program, which starts to look like a pyramid approach to me!  I like being part of new projects, but "staking" in this fashion is not appealing to me due to the chance of loosing most, if not all, of you principal investment.  This is very different that paired crypto yield farming or syrup pools where you stake your coin, and after a period of time you can withdraw your principal and rewards minus a transaction fee (which is usually pretty low if you leave the crypto staked for any amount of time).  I'm all for generating passive income from my crypto, not taking the chance of loosing my principal in the process.

I would much rather, and have, some of my BNB holdings in the staking program with Trustwallet.  In this case, I have drawn a high as 45%, low as 9.4% APR and my crypto can be withdrawn, or redelegated for higher rates as they come along, at any time with no penalty.

Again, this is by no means financial advise, just an observation and as always DYOR (Do Your Own Research).  We are all in this together!
