On August 9th the president of the Texas Blockchain Council, Lee Bratcher, announced on X that the Texas Blockchain Summit had been rebranded as the North American Blockchain Summit. This year's North American Blockchain Summit will be happening from November 15th through 17th in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Texas Blockchain Council announced the change as "a commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation not just in Texas, but across the entire North American continent," according to an X post from the organization. The Summit is a conference focusing on policy for Bitcoin, blockchain, and other digital assets. The 2023 Summit will be hosting sessions and workshops focusing on crypto policy, legal considerations, and Bitcoin mining, as well as other adjacent industries such as energy sources, banking, and accounting.
In the past, the Texas Blockchain Summit has boasted a wide array of crypto-advocating politicians and other policy makers. Just recently, former presidential candidate Andrew Yang was announced as a return speaker to this year's event. The North American Blockchain Summit is also sponsored by many names in the crypto/web3 ecosystem, including some big names like Consensys.
The Texas Blockchain Council is an organization promoting the growth of blockchain technology, such as Bitcoin mining, for the benefit of the citizens of Texas. The Texas Blockchain Council specifically advocates for blockchain technology public policy initiatives and for the education of members of government about the benefits of blockchain technology.
