Arrest of Pavel Durov
Telegram founder Pavel Durov has been arrested in France; he may face up to 20 years of imprisonment. Durov has been accused of many serious charges, including terrorism and drug tracking, but his real fault is not complying with the French government's order to censor Telegram.
Democracy is the new communism
Telegram founder Pavel Durov has dual citizenship in democratic France and dictatorial Russia, and ironically, Durov is being dealt with in France; Russia did not even touch him, only expelled him. When Russia banned Mark Zuckerberg from entering Russia in 2022 for not censoring anti-Russian statements on Facebook, then the whole of Europe and America were crying about the democratic right to freedom, while Russia did not even touch Zuckerberg. Now everybody is silent.
Point of Pavel Durov
Running social media is a very complex task, and maintaining the freedom of speech and expression of the users of your platform is even more difficult because, for this, you also have to deal with the arbitrariness of the government. People are supporting Pavel Durov for standing up for their right to freedom, but they cannot help without a revolution against such, and Durov is facing this bitter truth.
