Roar of gag order in court against SBF and FTX witnesses

New York District Judge Lewis Kaplan's court is considering a gag order on SBF and other witnesses in the ongoing FTX trail, which will bar them from commenting on a witness to third parties.

Request for gag order on Caroline Ellison's infamy

The Department of Justice (DOJ), a federal agency of the US government, has accused SBF, the mastermind of the devastating FTX empire scam, of attempting to discredit Caroline Ellison by leaking her private diaries. Public prosecutor Damian Williams has sought a gag order on SBF, citing Caroline as a government witness.

SBF's lawyers appeal for a uniform gag order

SBF attorneys Cohen & Gresser LLP have denied the DoJ's allegation but have not objected to the gag order, yet they have demanded that the gag order apply to everyone, including FTX's new CEO John Ray, not just SBF. That is, no one should comment outside against each other.

What will happen with the gag order?

The comments against each other might affect social media, which may affect the jury. If they do not make any comments against each other, then their allegations will remain in court. It is a different matter that all those, including Caroline Ellison, now have nothing to get slandered with; even the DoJ has named Caroline as a romantic partner of SBF.
