A new chapter has been added to crypto scams with the megabot rugpull that has scammed over $700k (some source claims $2M).
A Christmas Scam Megabot
Megabot was a crypto initiative started by some swindlers who enticed influencers with alluring claims. Influencers misrepresented Megabot for a few months, causing a lot of investors to experience FOMO. Megabot even debuted its native token and attracted significant pre-sale investment before abruptly disappearing on December 25th, defrauding every investor.
Shocked Investors Start Tracking
This rugpull surprised Megabot's investors, who had high expectations for the company. Although a number of influencers are under scrutiny, they continue to try and convince people that they are also victims. Since no well-known tracker is currently monitoring Megabot, investors themselves began tracking every link or address connected to Megabot in an attempt to identify the conman.
Rivals Mockery
Megabot creators and some influencers had reduced the influence of their rival project by by convincing people that those were scam; now rivals are making fun by reminding the promoters (now victims) of Megabot. Although these rivals may also turn out to be scams, there is no guarantee for them from my side.
