Postbank, one of Bulgaria's largest banks, plans to add crypto, stocks, ETFs, commodities and gold directly to its mobile banking app by early 2027.
And this is not the only bank doing this. Several banks in Germany and Bulgaria are also moving into crypto, mostly by partnering with existing crypto platforms.
Honestly, I think this is a good sign for crypto adoption. People will be able to invest in crypto directly through their banking apps instead of opening accounts on separate exchanges.
However, crypto held through a banking app is not necessarily covered by the same deposit protection as regular bank deposits.
It will be interesting to see how many customers actually use these services once they launch.
