Crypto Hodlers

Crypto Hodlers (Holders) are people who acquire Bitcoin (BTC) or any other Cryptocurrency (and Tokens) with the aim of keeping them in possession for long periods of time.

In this way, Crypto Hodlers seek to obtain long-term benefits (which is a classic investor attitude). Hodlers are investors and not speculators (those looking for short-term gains).

Based on the belief that the overall value of the crypto market will increase over time (due to mass adoption), Crypto Hodlers ignore the noise (and manipulations) of the market and do not usually sell their assets (although in some cases are taking profits in bull markets).

Hodlers Diamond Hands

The so-called Diamond Hands are those Crypto Hodlers who have the will and the ability to keep their Crypto Assets (Cryptocurrencies and Tokens) for long periods of time and do not allow the uncertainty and volatility of the market to affect them and therefore do not sell ( not even to take profits; they expect a big profit in the very long term).

Hodler Hierarchy

There is an unofficial classification to determine the level of Crypto possession, a hierarchical position.

This classification has been made using the representation of marine animals and in many cases it is known as the hierarchy of Bitcoin whales (although it is applicable to all Cryptocurrencies).

Each of these marine species within the hierarchy describe the level of financial participation in the crypto market that Hodlers hold (of BTC or its equivalent).

There is no official classification, therefore on the Internet you can find different variations. However, in essence it is as follows:

Crab: 0.5-2 BTC

Squid: 2-10 BTC

Octopus: 10-50 BTC

Fish: 50-100 BTC

Dolphin: 100-500 BTC

Shark: 500-1,000 BTC

Humpback Whale: 1,000-5,000 BTC

Gray Whale: 5,000-10,000 BTC

Blue Whale: + 10,000 BTC
