Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge! Our guild recently finished another brawl. Today, I'll be sharing our performance, my new Gladiator cards and favorite battles from the brawl.

Brawl Performance and Ranking

Our guild, the Immortal Gods 4 have our best finished in brawls so far. We scored 330 points from 110 wins and 79 losses placing second. Our guild earned 116 crowns that we can use to improve our buildings.

My personal contribution was not bad. I won 6 battles out of 8 for a 67% win rate. Each of us earned 6,000 merits and 75 SPS.

Gladius Case Purchase

I bought three Gladius cases this time. Each case contains five cards with one guaranteed rare or higher. I'm hoping to get some legendary cards to strengthen my collection.

Opening new packs is always fun as I have the possibility of getting a legendary card. However, I'm not so lucky this time. The fifteen new cards I pulled included one common gold foil and an epic card. I don't have any to upgrade but these acquisition will add to my collection and maybe I can upgrade next time.

Featured Battles

Battle 1 - Super Strong Fina

image.png

My level 3 gold foil Fina Voxom is the best card in my collection. She is a legendary card that deals crazy damage. With her Opportunity ability, she will hit the most vulnerable enemy and eliminate it in one shot. This will trigger her Bloodlust ability further increasing her strength. This battle displays just how destructive Fina can be.

My opponent has several units with 3 and 4 health. These were hunted by Fina one by one and soon she can one shot even enemy units with higher health as her Bloodlust ability was triggered several times.

Battle 2 - Fina Countered

No matter how strong Fina is, she can still be countered. In this battle, it's my opponent who has Fina in his lineup. My opponent's team is very powerful composed of four legendary units. His Fina works well with his Mordeus both having Opportunity ability and can target my low health units.

I chose the Light Splinter for it's sustainability. I have my favorite tank Uriel as usual supported by Adelaide Brightwing to repair his armor. I picked Captain Katie for my Gladiator card. She is a dependable damage dealer targetting the opponent's backline with her Snipe ability. In position six is Iziar, he counters the opponent's Opportunity ability with his Taunt. He is supported by a couple of healers having Triage ability, Djinn Renova and Spirit Hoarder.

Iziar did a fine job drawing the attacks from the enemy damage dealers and was constantly healed by Djinn Renova and Spirit Hoarder. Soon my opponent's Grum was eliminated and then his Brute. Even though Fina was able to trigger her Bloodlust ability and increase her power, she was no match against the sturdy Uriel and was soon eliminated as well.

Conclusion

In the above battles, I showed how one unit can dominate. However, we can't just rely on one unit in battles. Splinterlands requires card combinations that synergizes with each other. This is shown in the second battle where my units worked together to heal and support my tank and taunt units while doing damage to the enemy units. This is what makes Splinterlands a fun and challenging game. You have to think of strategies with the cards you have to win battles.
