Holo Friends! There is a HoloZing contest in Snap run by @wiseagent . The prize is generous, he's giving away Alpha Vials to the winner/(s).
The first Phase was to create your own slogan. My entry, "Catch, Train and Win 'Em All!" got chosen and I moved to the next phase. This is now on Phase 02: To create your own HoloZing monster.
I don't draw very well so I'm very pleased that AI entries were allowed. I had to think where I'd base my creature on.
I have a pet cat so he served as my inspiration but I wanted it remind me of pokemon as well so I thought of a half cat, half turtle monster. I used Night Cafe Studio for this. My first prompt was an "an orange cat with turtle shell" and the this was the result:
Hmmm...looks good but isn't he a bit fat around the middle? This is my first try and decided to refine my prompt as suggested by the AI and the result was:
Ugh! Even worse it's like a cat hiding inside a big turtle shell. The head is too small for the body. This is not looking good. Let's try again. This time I told the AI to make the monster in a battle pose.
Okay, it looks like the monster is about to pounce on a prey and looks a lot better than the previous products. I was already thinking about going with this one but it didn't quite get what I was thinking of...more like a dynamic fighting pose on two legs. So I tried again:
It's bad again. It got back to being a fat cat and looks like it's about to sleep rather than the fighting pose I was going for. I give up, this is not working. I need a reference image which the AI allows. So picked one of my favorite characters in Pokemon: Squirtle, a turtle based creature.
With Squirtle as a model, I tried again and used the previous prompts suggested by the AI and I got this:
Alright, progress! This is he one I'm going for but where are the cat's ears? I'm still not happy with this so I tried again without changing the prompt.
Alright, he just changed the direction of his head but still looks the same. He's still missing the cat's ears and he won't look like much of a cat without those ears. I used the first result as a reference image and refined the prompt a bit and I got this:
Finally! This is what I was going for. His face looks mischievous like he's planning something naughty (eating the pet bird perhaps?) . He's in a fighting pose I imagined and he's got that sturdy turtle shell for defense. He's as quick as a cat but as beefy as a turtle. His body is a blend of fur and scales. The name I picked for him was not too hard to think about like the Pokemon names: Caturtle! He will be my entry in the contest. I hope he gets chosen again.
