Friday the 13th - the horror that didn't.

For weeks, ex US president Donald Trump and a handful of his henchmen have been steadfast in announcing a prediction that the former president would be back in the White House, running the country.

One of his more deluded supporters went on to provide a date for this event- Friday the 13th of August  2021.

Now, there was still one April in the year,  so it seemed unlikely that someone was going to play the fool on the rest of us.

Halloween was still a way off, so an elaborate marketing campaign for a goodies party was out of the question.

Could it be then that someone was privy to some important information that the ignoramus amongst us were blissfully unaware of. After all, the messages were cropping up in evewherre. Mike Lindels broadcasts and interviews. Q, small boys and other right wing social media posts ,  and no less than the desk of the ex president of the US himself.

When pushed for details, the standard response was "Wait and see."

We all waited.
And we saw...
...nothing.

Friday the 13th came and went, and none of the predictions of a new old leader of the US materialized. Whats a damp squid.

For the squeamish amongst us, what a relief. No Freddy Krueger hunting us down. No Jack Nicholson showing his crazy grin while he chops down the door. No knife wielding Chucky doll trying to stab us. No Donald Trump in the White House.

The horror has been averted.

But don't be complacent.

The monster still lurks.
