I have been interested in the SPT token from Splinterlands which is used on Splintertalk.io first making a post about it now years ago on the 25th of September 2020 (Link). I can't believe it has now been about 5 months since my last update (Link). Since, the token dropped with another 82% in Value.
SPT Price Evolution
Basically with zero support and almost no use case left for the token, the price continues to be a race to the bottom as it dropped another 82% in value compared to last report and the total market cap right now is only 3654$ which is quite insane.
This is more or less what can be expected as more and more tokens are printed out of thin air each day. I understand that other aspects of the game get priority and need fixing first. However, it has gotten to the point where it feels that the team will just totally act as SPT doesn't exist and is not really part of the ecosystem.
The main question right now is if it's worth the gamble that this will change again at some point and I still seem to believe it could be a good risk-reward bet at this point. There are just so many easy things that can be done to increase the value and the use-case of this token that it should be quite easy to make it do a 10x.
I did quote a couple possible solutions last time around that could possibly help support the token.
However, I'm not expecting anything to happen by the time I make the next report half a year from now.
SPT Market Caps & Inflation
This is the overall evolution of SPT so far since I started tracking it.
A whopping 32%% More SPT was created in the last 5 months from what the numbers indicate which is just ridiculous.
Personal Approach
I haven't been buying or selling any SPT but I'm kind of starting to get tempted to take a small gamble putting in a low buy order since you can buy so much of it for next to nothing at the current price. I still have a hard time to see SPT stay down at these levels in case the Spliterlands ecosystem would see a revival which on it's own is a gamble. So for now, I'm keeping things were they are and might see along the way
