Splinterlands | Rebellion Card I Want For Wild!

By costanza | costanza | 7 Dec 2023

With Rebellion realeased for Splinterlands and me still playing in Wild and Brawls, I had a closer look too see which are the ones that I could actually use and might get...

Hesitation To Invest.

I wrote last week how I think buying Rebellion Packs is not a good investment (Link) especially now that Packs are no longer part of the rewards which crushes the biggest potential to get some ROI. So Even though I do plan to scale out and no longer bring outside money into the game (As I'm already heavy into it), I still might get a couple of the Rebellion cards leveled up for Gold just to have fun with them and maybe stay somewhat competitive. These are the ones that I'm eying...

Neutral Cards

One of my favorite decks to play is Water Possibilus which gives Monsters +2 health and the trample ability. This works great with Multiple Monster that have the Opportunity ability.

The main issue is that it's kind of overkill and quite easy to counter for the opponents. The price of this cards at level 6 is roughly 38$ which is hard to justify as the returns for me holding it would be neglectable.

Water Splinter Cards

This one looks like a fun card as buffing both the Axemaster & Water Elemental would give a 15 Damage output each round to the tank of the enemy with high speed. However, I don't have these 2 monsters fully leveled up and it would het them to 5 damage which is vulnerable to doing doing 1 damage. In the Only Ranged ruleset though they are quite good.

Giving both The Kraken or the Cornealus Shield also would make them crazy powerful especially combined with some heal.

At 78$ for a Level 6 copy it's also kind of affordable.

The Legendary Daarg Deadblast also looks interesting as it mixes well with the Alric Stormbringer Summoner and would fit well giving 3 Magic attack to the Baakjira & the Merdaali Guardian.

At 13.5$ a copy this would come at 81$ just for this card so I will try renting it in case I get a Magic / Water Daily quest on my main account. Prices eventually will come down which kind of makes it suck to pay for them now.

Life Splinter Cards

Monsters with Multiple attacks tend to be super strong with specific game rules. This one looks nice to use in the 'only ranged' ruleset especially since it also has headwinds at Level 6 + Repair. This kind of feels like an Epic or Legendary card. It goes for 54$ at the moment to get it up to gold level.

The Legendary Life card is also pretty nice, especially in game rules where there is no magic allowed. This combined with the Warrior of Piece makes it hard to beat and a bit stronger than the Shieldbearer which I'm using now. The question remains if it's worth the 6x13$ (78$)

Death Splinter Cards

Death is one of the classes that has multiple Magic cards with 3+ Magic Damage which tend to work great when only magic is allowed or when Monsters have no abilities. At 7$ a copy it's also kind of affordable for a total at 42$ for a Level 3 copy. However, the use case is also very niche as it's too vulnerable to spent 13 mana on in most matches.

Conclusion

When looking at the Rebellion cards as a Wild players, there are some that I kind of want to get just to have fun with but the money they cost right now don't really justify the investment. Generally, it also looks like there isn't crazy power creep and no real urgency to get any of them. I will take a look ath Fire / Earth / Dragon next week...
