Dear Community,
Welcome to our Monthly Update!
September has passed with the same sense of expectation that usually grabs me when I wait for Christmas Day (which, if you’re wondering, is by far my favorite):
Time seems to crystallize and the fateful day never seems to come.
This is a little bit the same for the IRISnet community right now: there are some incredible things in store for us next month, so big that sometimes we can’t really realize their impact.
It’s in these moments that we rediscover the power behind the word “believe”:
The community day after day renews its commitment to the IRISnet project, and the team in its community, walking together towards what is not only the future of the blockchain world but the dawn of a new Trustless era for the whole of humanity.
Let’s review together all the events that have taken place over the last 30 days!
⭐ Ecosystem Updates ⭐
IRISnet — BSN Partnership
Is BSN a risk to the core values of the blockchain, the “trust machine” of the third millennium?
On September 17th, during the“BSN Open Permissioned Blockchain” panel at the “International Blockchain + Business Future Development Conference” held in Xiamen, Harriet Cao|IRISnet Co-Founder expressed her own point of view by drawing the heart of the technology itself.
Here is one of the most relevant points highlighted by Miss Harriet:
“The common blockchain architecture has three layers, the top layer is the application layer, the middle is the consensus layer, and the bottom layer is the communication layer.
Decentralization is enabled by the design of the consensus layer in the middle, while the open permissioned blockchain could be found at the application layer.
This should make you realize that from a technical architecture perspective, BSN Open Permissioned Blockchain works at the application layer, so there is no technical basis for assuming that this will affect the public blockchain decentralization.”
At the same event Mr. Yifan He, the Executive Director of BSN Development Association, announced the launch of the “BSN Open Permissioned Blockchain” initiative.
On September 27th, Major Breakthrough in China’s Blockchain Ecosystem as the “BSN Open Permissioned Blockchain Initiative” was officially launched. IRISnet was confirmed in the 1st Batch together with Polkadot, Tezos, Algorand, Cosmos, Ethereum, Huobi Chain and Nervos.

IRIS Hub Bifrost Testnet
IRISnet’s DeFi and Interchain Testnet Bifrost launched on Sept 2nd!
Jump on board and discover what incredible new features the next upgrade will bring to the IRIS Hub!
The Era of the Internet of Blockchains is getting closer!
Here a quick overview of the changes that Bifrost will bring:
New DeFi Features
• NFT, Record and other new modules
• Upgraded and enhanced iService
• Oracle function
• Random function
Cosmos SDK
• Migrate on-chain data encoding to Protobuf
• Bring Inter-Blockchain Communication
• Bring upgrade automation
The existing functions on IRIS Hub, such as Coinswap and other use cases combined with IBC interchain token transfer, will be tested and verified.
IRISnet intends to organize activities as Bug Bounty and Hackathon when Bifrost will reach the v1.0-rc stage (release candidate).

IRISnet — Cosmos Network
Tendermint, one of the major $IRIS stakeholders, announced that the team intends to invest its treasury in the growth of the IRISnet community in Chjango Unchained’s latest blogpost.
Her retrospective about the ongoing Token Burn Campaign, which led Tendermint to develop a very different approach by implementing a Token Spend Strategy, is very remarkable.

Bianjie — Zhongcheng Blockchain Research Institute Partnership
Bianjie, the IRISnet Core Team, establishes a strategic partnership with Zhongcheng Blockchain Research Institute!
Both parties will jointly focus on the “Industry-University-Research Collaboration” relevant area within the Blockchain industry, and specifically in:
•Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC),
• Security Token Offering (STO),
•Big Data
•Blockchain applications dedicated to enterprises
The collaboration will promote blockchain research and development (R&D), talent enhancement, and incubation, as well as support of industry-related solutions.
The main mission of Bianjie & Zhongcheng B. R. I. collaboration is to promote blockchain adoption in the real-world economy.

1. Released Bifrost Testnet Explorer v0.1.0
• Added the iService module
2. Developing Bifrost Testnet Explorer v0.2.0
• Add the NFT and Identity modules
• Support the detailed display of the multi-message transaction type
• Support the detailed display of the IBC-Recv_Packet transaction type
• Update the productized setting of explorer including the theme color, logo, name, module and other branded elements
IRIS Hub
1. Upgraded Cosmos-SDK to the latest version
2. Upgraded to service v1.2: service protocol separates from on-chain logic to achieve scalable non-functional requirements
3. Added GRPC Gateway REST API
4. Added mainnet data migration script

- On September 4th Zhiwei Hu, Director of Research at IRISnet, made an introduction about “DeFi in the Cosmos Ecosystem” at the Global Blockchain and Crypto Finance Summit by ChainDD. Here his talk about Bifrost and its applications.

- On September 21st IRISnet attended the Cosmos Ecosystem Summit hosted by Cosmos, Akash Network, and Ourea Group along with Kava Labs, Cdot Network, Injective Labs, KuChain, and IOV!
- On September 25th Zhiwei Hu participated in the 2nd ICF NFT & Metadata Working group Community Call.
- On Sept 27th the major breakthrough in China’s Blockchain Ecosystem known as the “BSN Open Permissioned Blockchain Initiative” was officially launched. IRISnet was confirmed in the 1st Batch.
At the launch ceremony, Chjango Unchained spoke on behalf of Cosmos Network and shared some considerations about the incredible growth of the network itself, mentioning IRISnet as a part of the vision of the Internet of Blockchains. - On Sept 29 Bianjie, the Core team of the IRITA chain, was awarded as “BSN Gold Certified Partner” by ChinaMobile Jiangxi Branch at the “Blockchain Boosts the Modernization of Governance System and Capability” Summit.
At the same event, Harriet Cao gave a keynote speech entitled “IRITA: Interchain Service Hub within the New Global Infrastructure — building privacy-preserving interoperability for BSN”.
