A couple of weeks ago, as many of y'all know, Reddit changed their terms and conditions allowing for the selling of Community Points (Moons and BRICKS) and Digital Avatars (NFTs). This change kick-started the price of Moons to go from $0.09 to over $0.60 at one point. Naturally, as any coin starts making headlines of how it has increased 200%+ in just a few days more and more people were drawn to the sub and the number of active people jumped x3 to x4 what they had consistently been.
People who had been part of the sub before the terms and conditions changed wondered how this was going to impact the Karma to Moons ratio. This ratio is how decided roughly by taking the top Karma earners and diving their Karma by the number of Moons to be distributed. For the 41 cycle, we had a ratio over 1 which was something that we had not seen in some time but excited people a lot! Previous ratios had tended to revolve around 0.7 to 0.8 great ratios compared to what we get in a bull market but pales in comparison to a ratio over 1.
When this sudden surge in activity occurred we were roughly halfway through the 42 Moon distribution cycle. Everyone expected that the ratio would take a hit but the question revolved around how large of a hit it would take. Some people in the Daily Discussion talked about it falling all the way down to 0.6 which just seemed pretty extreme but with crypto, I've learned to expect the unexpected. After the snapshot was taken I have to admit my mind was blown with the results.
First things first I almost had cracked the top 100 top Karma earners which I never would have imagined! Secondly, and most importantly for everyone, the ratio was OUT OF THIS WORLD! A ratio of 1.04 was not something I saw coming in the slightest and boosted my earning to over 1000 moons for the cycle which I love! Not to mention there were 4 total polls meaning there is going to be a nice nice 8.75% booster for the moons!
