Orbit Chain announced this morning and Harvest Finance later confirmed a new farm coming to the Ethereum side of Harvest starting Feb. 2nd! This new farm will be housed on Harvest, utilize Uniswap V3, and use the liquidity pairing ETH-ORC which will officially bring Orbit Bridge users to the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem. Orbit is rather interesting and something that has a ton of legs as it currently connects 8 different blockchains to each other. This partnership will allow Orbit Bridge users access to Ethereum's DeFi network something it currently does not have. The Orbit Farm uses the locked-up assets and will function like the current deployment it has on Binance Smart Chain or BSC.
It will be interesting to see how people feel about this farm. When Orbit Farm deploys deposited assets into the DeFi sphere 100% of earned profits will be used to rebuy Orbit Chains governance token ORC. This differs from most DeFi projects that I have run into that at least boost your holdings as from what I have been able to gather via their blog it is about boosting the price of ORC an interesting idea. The Farm has roughly $500 million in assets to deploy on Ethereum and will be partnering with additional DeFi projects Harvest though was the first one which I think shows how highly regarded the platform is. Users of this farm will earn ORC, iFARM, and the trading fees that the Uniswap LP pool produces.
Orbit Chain's main thing seems to be to leverage providing liquidity to various chains and then leverage this liquidity into providing the best bang for its users. It is a rather interesting thing and something that I had never really thought of but they do seem to have been pretty successful in their usage and allocation of their assets! They have been pretty big in BELT Finance on the BSC so they have worked with names I know of.
