Today has been a rough day in the markets across the board. Not only is crypto being crushed but stocks and precious metals are down as well. Given how rough it is I almost decided to just close up dealing with cryptos and stocks today and go out and enjoy the rest of the day. Before I did this though I checked my email and much to my surprise some fantastic news was sitting in my email inbox!
Foldapp has done a full revamp of things that really benefits both Fold Spin Card holders and Spin+ Card, holders.
Since the launch of the Spin+ card, it was sometimes a little hard to try and justify if the average annual fee was worth it. This update though completely changes that as it establishes clear benefits for people that just have the app, have the free Fold Spin card, and finally those who have the Premium Spin+ card. Not only that but the price has been changed for the Spin+ card as well lowering it by $50 to $100 a year!
The development team behind Fold has also made gift cards more of a tiered thing. By doing this they have been able to offer more that previously would have been super limited if everyone could have purchased. This has also let the team increase the base percent back on a variety of cards. Gift cards like Amazon and Airbnb have become Spin+ exclusives with most of the restaurants and brick-and-mortar stores still available to people without a Fold card. There are some cards for places like Taco Bell and Southwest Airlines that are Fold Card exclusives so you need at least the free card but can have either the free or Spin+ to be able to purchase.
Fold has also added more features to their card that only the Spin+ card holders are able to access. These newest additions include higher rewards via more ways to earn Extra Spins daily, zero fees on cashback, zero fees on ATM withdrawals, zero fees on International Transaction Fees, Exclusive Gift Card brands with boosted rewards, and early access to upcoming Fold App products. With these additions, Fold has made its card just that much more functional and appealing for everyday purchases. To encourage this they have added a feature that you can earn free extra spins for spending $25 or more three times a day on purchases excluding gift cards. For gift cards, they have added the ability to earn additional spins if you spend more than $50 on the gift card.
This was an unexpected massive update to the Fold cards and app but one that is fantastic for people who do tend to make a number of purchases a month with their Fold card. With the changes just going into effect, I look forward to seeing how they play out and if it is another step in the right direction or if it is something that I think the development team should work on. The last time that they changed the spin system I was in the group that was hurt by it but I am hoping that with all of these chances to earn additional spins that this will correct that issue and I can supercharge stacking sats again!
