On my bingo card today I did not have us getting a summary decision being reached in the SEC v Ripple Labs court case. I mean you could have told me that we were going to get crypto legislation passed by both chambers and signed by the President all in one day (it typically takes 10 days) before I would have had this lawsuit ending. Alas, it has happened and we now have our first crypto that is deemed NOT a security in Ripple's XRP. Honestly, out of all of the possible winners, this one was way down on the list.
While a win is a win at the end of the day this is more importantly a moment that is going to spur a lot of talk on The Hill once we finish up the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act). This week we have seen the Senate plan be introduced with bipartisan support and it is known in the next two weeks we will see the House bill unveiled based on what I have learned up here over the years I think it is safe to say that each chamber will pass their own version and then there will be a conference to hash out what makes the final cut and is passed and sent to the President to be signed into law.
For now, though I think we should all revel in our win while Gary gets to cry in the corner... but more importantly here is a fantastic meme I threw together :P
