As many of you know AMPL is one of the two tipping tokens you can earn for tipping a post. There has been a pretty mixed reception on Publish0x it seems about how good or bad the token is. Once though they partnered with KuCoin and you could have your AMPL sent there it really seemed to smooth over a lot of complaints people had. During this spark downturn in the market AMPL's strength is really shining through and it is great to see!
If you did not already know Amplforth while being the name of the crypto is also the name of the organization behind it. This organization last April released its governance token to those who had interacted with AMPL based on a certain formula. The governance token they released is called FORTH so the two tokens together spell out the whole name! Now AMPL is typically thought of as a coin that is "pegged" to the USD but that really is not the case. Since AMPL is a coin that has an elastic supply the amount of AMPL in your wallet will change without you doing anything and this is to deal with the fluxuation of usage. The price target for the rebases is $1.079 not a $1 like a lot of people think.
Another thing that is important to note is that while the price will vary, we have seen the price of AMPL just recently hit $1.75 a token and also a low of $0.72, the price does have a high tendency to stay within a certain range. It was found last year that the price of AMPL stayed within 20% of the price target 70% of the time. While in a normal market that is moving slowly but steady this wouldn't be the greatest thing in a highly volitie time like we are currently in imagine your crypto staying in a range that well!
As I am writing this the price of AMPL is $0.827 again staying within that range and allowing people who hold it to have seen their buying power greatly increase! When you buy or receive AMPL what you are doing is locking in your purchasing power at a given price and then AMPL through its rebasing will for the most part keep your purchasing power at the same level. This is huge in times of volatility and market downturns which is what we are experiencing and it is fantastic to see AMPL continue to stay within the range (20%) that it is supposed to!
