Did you know that Wealthsimple launched a master class on investing? Wait what’s the catch you wonder? I’m sorry but there is no catch. What!? Yes, there is actually no catch it’s completely free. You don’t even need to create a time-consuming account and log in. Or even download an app on your cellphone. Shut the front door! Well, actually I’m opening doors and opportunities for you. That’s actually kind of my purpose as an investor and writer.

Before I dig into it know that Wealthsimple has not sponsored me to promote them. I’m not a social media guru, at least not yet. I came across it and thought of you guys, my readers. So without further ado, here is a short descriptive review of Wealthsimple’s master class available through Youtube.

Released on April 17th, 2019, the video course is presented by Nicholas Braun.

The 10 fairly short of the following topics:

1. The Stock Market 2. Investing 101 3. Saving & Investing 4. The 5 Simple Rules of Investing 5. The Waterfall Method 6. Automating Your Finances 7. Should I Pay Somebody to Help? 8. Socially Responsible Investing 9. When it’s actually okay to pick stocks 10. How Much Do I Need to Retire?

What’s great about the class is that there’s a decent amount of visual representation to illustrate concepts and it’s jargon-free. They have produced it in an entertaining way and the presenter does quite a good job of keeping your attention. The longest video is 5 minutes long, most of them are around 2 to 4 minutes. Now if you are already very knowledgeable about investing I would say it’s still good to get a revision on your fundamentals. Another great thing about it is that since it is jargon-free you could show it to your less finance savvy spouse, or your son, or your daughter. It’s a great way of educating your family.

If you have never invested before I actually recommend using the Wealthsimple platform as they don’t charge transaction fees on Canadian stocks and exchange-traded funds. However, just keep in mind that there is an exchange fee for American assets. As long as you’re investing within the Canadian border within the platform you won’t be paying any fees.

Here is a referral link if you don’t have an investing account and you’d like to get started. It’s one of those mutually beneficial monetary referral links.

Wealthsimple Trade is Canada’s first $0 commission stock trading app — sign up now and you’ll get $10 to trade.
