What Type Of Game Is It?

Hack-n-Slash action RPG available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

What's It About?

It's a sequel to Darksiders 1 and 2 where you take control of one of the Horsemen called Fury. You're summoned by the Charred Council to hunt down the Seven Deadly Sins, which have escaped imprisonment and are assigned a Watcher to ensure your compliance.

Gameplay

- You play as Fury from a third person perspective

- Can be played as a Souls-like game, where you need to time your attacks and dodge frequently. However, the difficulty can be adjusted to "Story" which renders the game easy and like a typical RPG

- Your main weapon is a badass whip

- Along the way you acquire "hollows" which are essentially secondary weapons that range from daggers to hammers and that possess unique abilities such as fire and lightning. These hollows allow you to complete puzzles throughout the game

- Later on, you acquire a long range weapon that can be imbued with the hollows' powers

- You can upgrade your weapons and enchantments, which can be socketed into weapons for bonuses, by using souls from killed enemies and artifacts collected throughout your journey, respectively

- You can also collect different armor by buying or winning certain challenges

- The story and dialogue are engaging and you meet characters along the way that keep things fresh

- You can unlock New Game+ after beating the story which unlocks armor upgrading

- Two DLCs exist: The Void and The Crucible and are available with the Deluxe, Collector's and Apocalypse Editions

- In the Void DLC, you're essentially completing puzzle challenges to reach four bosses and one final boss, each with their own rewards

- The Crucible DLC is basically an Arena style mode where you fight off wave after wave of enemies and earn points which are converted to a currency that can be used to be buy armor and upgrade ingredients

Is It Fun?

Hell yeah it is! If you're looking for a Souls like game, you can amp up the difficulty. If you're a casual gamer, just switch to Story difficulty and it'll become easy and without frustration.
This game is basically for someone who enjoys a hack-n-slash game and endless replayability. You're not looking for too much dialogue or a deep story, and you mostly care about smashing stuff and killing enemies. There's also a good mix of magical abilities and different weapons/armors to keep things fresh.

Graphics

The game is pretty, it's a mix of realistic and artistic graphics with a colorful palette.
