The Illusioness
I wonder.
Tell me.
I ponder.
What is it in you that repels me?
Pray tell me.
What is behind that mask.
Where are the lies that bask?
Bask inside.
Where is the pride?
Are they also lies?
And what truly lies inside?
Beautiful that is true.
But that was on the exterior.
And now I look at you now.
And I am the fearer.
As I have seen things about you now that are far too clearer,
Than I couldn't have noticed from looking in the mirror.
And I wish to step away the more I get nearer.
But who is the real you?
Behind all of that make-up?
Or is your personality just a ploy?
Bonds you do destroy.
Hidden behind all that make-up.
Possibly to make up for a lack of.
To take advantage of a beaten man.
Who will eventually fall into the sinking and barren sands.
The same man who deemed you once as grand.
You were the one who appeared to be a mirage in a chaotic sanded land.
But now you have left me back where I was.
A man stuck where he was.
A man forever lonely and damned.
