This is a fun side project I have been thinking of a year.
I love burgers. LOVE them.
Since man began sandwiches grilled ground beef and cheese between two buns a question has plagued society.
Who makes the best burger?
With the help of my friends I seek out to answer this question. Well partially. I want to figure out who makes the best value burger. Is it the $45 steak house burger, doubtful. Is it the $3.25 side of the road burger, maybe? But that is the quest.
The goal is to create an index. A Consumer Burger Index. So you can compare subjective opinions against each other to show a comparable value.
I will be going to burger joints with my friends and filling account a subjective analysis of the restaurant's premiere burger. We fill score the burger on 100. Using the following categories: Bun, Meat, Cheese, Vegetables, Sauces, Messiness, Burgerness, and Appearance. Scores will be tabulated and scored after all parties are finished.
If the signature burger does not have a category that section will not be included in calculations. So a perfect meat and bun burger will not be penalized for not having dressings.
An average of all scores will then be divided by the price of the burger to get the CBI score. The CBI represent the burger's value on a per dollar basis.
To make charting easier we have decided to multiply figure by 10.
The participants will then agree upon a positive or negative value for the score.
- + means the burger is score is valuable
- - means the burger is not valuable.
all scores will be logged and eventually graphed.
