You know how Android users always make fun of Apple users because they sometimes get stuff years later? Stuff that's been available for ages?
The same thing - or rather a similar thing - has happened with Threads.
Threads was launched about two years to compete X in part, let's be honest about it, because Meta was probably hoping to cash in on the supposed diaspora from X after Musk took over.
Amazingly, Threads still didn't include DMs, until now.
Threads was created as a way to piggyback off Instagram's success as well, considering it was the easiest and quickest thing in the world to automatically turn your Instagram profile into a nearly identical Threads profile.
Threads currently has 350 million monthly users, whereas X has 600 million monthly users.
Bluesky, which was also created to rival and take advantage of the potential spillover from X, has 30 registered users.
