As it turns out, gamers were right. They’ve been right all along. A digital, virtual reality is coming, a metaverse where we can do things, buy things, see things. Whatever else we may think of it, it’s relevant, and it’s also a huge market, with potential.
Automakers know this and they’ve been paying attention. Alpine recently launched its first collection of NFTs - and no doubt other brands will follow soon - and now Porsche, in partnership with Polyphony Digital, has developed a new car specifically designed for Gran Turismo 7, which will be released on March 4, 2022 for PlayStation 4 and 5.
The Porsche Vision Granturismo comes in with an “especially sporty height-to-width ratio”, a low-set bonnet and a massive wing. It kinda looks like the Taycan, because the inspiration comes from the Taycan.
Obviously, a lot of people will want Porsche to build this in the real world as well - and I am one of those people - in the meantime, all we gotta do is wait for the game and play.
I’ve crossposted this article on my blog about cars and tech Flabbergasted LF, mostly because I’m curious to find out how car-related content performs on Publish0x
