My Frustration With KuCoin

I think it's safe to say that everyone on this site is familiar with the KuCoin exchange, since it is the recommended withdrawal system for rewards. In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, I'll give a quick explanation:

The KuCoin exchange is a large cryptocurrency exchange that has made a name for itself by having a large selection of altcoins as well as not requiring KYC (know your customer) verification. It also happens to be the default way to withdraw from Publish0x.

Now, I wouldn't describe myself as owning a large amount of cryptocurrency. I'm more interesting in the technical aspect of blockchains. I did, however, own a small sum that I held on KuCoin. That money is now gone. My account was set up completely normally, with an email, a phone number and a 6-digit trading password. It all started when I returned to check on my balance after about a month of forgetting to do so. KuCoin, like many other online services, automatically logs you out after extended inactivity. I had been offline for long enough that the sign-in page was also requesting phone verification. I pressed the "Send Code" button, and waited. A minute passed, and I still had no text. By now, the 60 second cooldown for sending verification texts had ended, so I assumed my first request hadn't gone through and I clicked again. Another minute went by, and there was still no sign of a text. I was beginning to get concerned. I figured that maybe the website was experiencing abnormally large amounts of traffic, so I decided to come back in a few hours. When I returned, the text message verification still didn't work. I repeated this for days, trying to make a single text go through, to no avail. When I tried to reset my phone using my email address, it wouldn't even send a verification email. It was too much. I gave up and made a new account. It might not have been much, but I still lost perfectly good cryptocurrency because of a broken interface.

I highly recommend that you only use KuCoin as a stepping stone when withdrawing from Publish0x, in order to avoid the same thing happening to you.
