The anticipated Season 2 of RollerCoin has finally been released. As it launched yesterday many players were waiting with anticipation for the "4-6 hour (or more)" launch as stated by the RollerCoin Team. About 12 hours later, it was finally launched and players flocked to see what the new season was all about. Initially, RollerCoin released a short teaser trailer which didn't really tell us anything except for a space theme but it increased anticipation.
Exciting Updates
What's Free with the Event Pass
The most exciting announcement about this season is that the RollerCoin team has listened to the community's plead and included the ability to earn 2 miners (Chupacabra and El Monstro) with the weekly quests. Both of those miners are fairly decent and would otherwise cost a player 17 RLT ($17) and 99 RLT ($99) if purchased.
They have also included a one-day bonus power increase of 300,000 GH/s and a 3-day bonus power increase of 500,000 GH/s. Additionally, last season they rewarded players with 15 RLT and for season 2 they've increased that to 20 RLT.
This is an improvement from the previous season where zero miners were offered unless you were paying for the season pass which was 149.99 RLT ($149.99). The last notable change with this Seasons Event Pass is that they changed the season from 20 weeks to 15.

Loot Boxes

The Loot Boxes seem to be a nice fairly low-cost (between 10-50 RLT) addition to this season and some of the rewards seem worthwhile. There are chances to win miners as well as Rollertoken rewards. It's helpful also to see the drop chance per Loot Box to help players make a more informed decision.
I've included a larger image of the Loot Boxe contents below for anyone that might be struggling to see it in the pictures above. One thing to keep in mind here especially about the miners is that with the Marketplace coming into play next season, you may be able to make back a lot of what you spent by selling Limited Edition miners to other players.

Another frequent request by the community was to add new currency. This season they did just that and introduced Binance Coin (BNB) as the newest coin to mine. The RollerCoin community has been asking for the addition of more cryptocurrencies choices and they finally came through on their promise. Currently, there are only a few players mining BNB so I recommend switching your mining power to that before others notice the new addition.

In my opinion, the most exciting update that will be available next season will be the Marketplace. It's exciting to see that they have started the work on ensuring that this will be up and on the site soon. This will allow players to buy and sell coveted and limited edition miners to other players. More details to come soon!

Could have Been Better
Removed "Gain Power"
UPDATE (Oct. 8th, 7:30 am EST): I missed another sneaky addition from the RollerCoin team. For every level, the players had to reach 100 experience points gain the reward, and move onto the next level. This season, another disappointment. They have increased the amount of experience required in order to receive the reward and move on to the next level.

The first thing I noticed when playing a game that I lost is that they changed the ability to keep your "gained power". Previously, you had the option to restart the game or to "gain power" from the short time you may have invested in a game even though you lost. It allowed you a bit of additional power and it made it seem like you weren't wasting your time. This change seems like a sneaky addition from the RollerCoin team as there was no mention or announcement about this taking place.

Event Pass
Last season there was a free option for the Event Pass and an option to purchase the Full Season Pass for ($149.99). This season those same options are available as well as an added "Premium" pass. However, the Full Season Pass (also called the upgrade) has increased to 199.99 RLT ($199.99), and if you don't want to play the games but want all the rewards, you have the option to purchase the Premium Pass available for 799.99 RLT ($799.99).

Weekly Quests
UPDATE (Oct. 8th, 4:40 am EST): RollerToken has adjusted for the number of games needed for the weekly quests from 80 down to 40!
The weekly quests this season seem more narrowed in scope and more challenging to attain - probably by design as I'm sure many people were able to get pretty far last season. I was one of the players who believed that $149.99 was worth it for the rewards. I don't feel that this is the case this season.
Since this is the first week it will be interesting to see if these weekly quests change. They have unfortunately kept the "Invite 1 user" quest which the community very much disliked and added a quest that seems to be even worse. "Spend RLT token", that's right. In order to help you gain the experience you need to attain all the free items and items in general, you might need to spend 40 RLT ($40) to receive not only 40 experience points. but also the additional 60 experience points from completing the weekly quests. So without spending the 40 RLT, you lose out on 100 experience points per week.

Overall Impression
While the RollerCoin team made some exciting changes this season like adding BNB, creating new miners, adding loot boxes, and has started the creation of the open Marketplace, for me this season seems to be lacking. Personally, I liked the design of the miners from last season better and the Weekly Tasks didn't seem to pigeonhole you into having to play certain games - it was your choice so long as you completed the necessary amount.
I will of course play the free Event Pass and see how far I can make it without purchasing the upgrade. Updates to come on my progress next week, as well as how the Weekly Quests might change. There is a secret hope that the "Spen RLT Token" quest will go away.
