Earning Marriott Points through Dining - $48 Sign Up Bonus

Many hotel and airline companies have loyalty programs that offer many ways to earn points, including for things you would normally do. One of those ways is through Dining Programs, rewarding you for simply eating out or ordering take-out and paying with a linked credit card.

Marriot offers a pretty solid rewards program called Marriott Bonvoy; the points can be redeemed for gift cards for online shopping (including Amazon) if you won't use them for traveling and points are transferable between accounts and to other programs. It's Dining Program is called EatAroundTown and it's a very useful way to earn points from home. It effectively offers up to a 10% rebate on restaurant bills (and goes a long ways towards free hotel nights).

They offer 4 points on every dollar spent at qualifying restaurants, in addition to any credit card points you receive, as well as special offers to earn more (an extra 1,000 points for every 10 dines and more on certain restaurants right now).

Better still, they are currently offering 6,000 points as a sign-up bonus:

According to the Points Guy, those 6,000 points are worth $48: https://thepointsguy.com/guide/monthly-valuations/

The first step to take advantage of this would be to create a Bonvoy account: https://www.marriott.com/loyalty.mi

The next would be create an EatAroundTown account: https://eataroundtown.marriott.com/

Then you just have to link a credit card. Now, the most efficient way may be to use a Marriott card (but any credit card would work). The elite status you would get from a having a Marriot card would you get you an additional 2 points for a total of 6 points from EatAroundTown and at least 8 Marriot points in total (like an automatic 8% discount on restaurant bills.)

As for Marriott credit cards, they offer several, but the Marriot Bonvoy Boundless card seems to me to be the best and offers 100,000 points for signing up, which is an $800 value (and 25,000 points more than usual). I've found using that card with the dining program to be like a sweet spot for earning Marriot points and free vacations. You can then earn more points by referring people to both Bonvoy and the credit card (though Bonvoy referrals require personal information). If you want to check out the card, my referral link is below:

Earn 3 Free Night Awards with the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless™ Credit Card or 1 Free Night Award with the Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Credit Card. I can be rewarded too if you apply here and are approved for a card. Learn More.

This is just one of the dining programs and the only limit to how many you can join will be the number of cards you can link, but you should seriously consider taking advantage of the current sign-up bonus and start racking up those Marriott points for eating out or getting take-out. So start earning points Eating Around Town!
