MAIDSAFE's Internet 2.0+WEB3.0: THE SAFENETWORK RISING ETA OCTOBER 2024

MaidSAFE SAFENetwork RoadMap: 18 Years later

Maidsafe, the little "Scottish" team that never gave up, endured some early BIG bumps in the road back in 2015,

suffered a key leadership COO loss awhile back and,  endured a whole host of other worldly events solving what is really a 're-boiling of the Internet Ocean'

is standing now, rejuvenated,

with new CEO BUX , an early WEB3 veteran from Gala Music  really helping set the course with a new 'stand and deliver' energy often avoided by many in the 'cryptosphere'.

BUX from what I can see from activity I monitor on Maidsafe's Discord is soundly handling the SAFE Network tiller (with lots of humour built in) and organizing the ANTs on their Discord Server and the development team in-house to keep them focused on the RoadMap and, dare I say the word now  'execute' on the deliverables just promised today.

The rubber hits the road for the MaidSafe Team and it's extended development community and partners when the Closed Beta for the SAFE Network starts in just over 10 days..,

Where every step of the way the SAFE Network team will be weighed, measured and hopefully NOT found wanting.

Personally, expect bumps in the road.

That said, having followed this project and their forum for a VERY long time, founder David Irvine is likely to finally be vindicated.

Tim Berners Lee  was not wrong about what the Internet should be, he was just, well hyperlinked in the wrong direction, by Web 1.0 which got roped into a big DC centralized Data Center model by Web 2.0's Corporate Capitalists disguised as VCs (Andreessen and Radcliffe included among others), creating a monstrous BIG Brother Surveillance network to ensure the US $ dominated our lives everywhere.

Maidsafe, by my own account and reckoning is poised to change all that.

Yesterday, March 6th, 2024  Mike J Casey, Chief Content Officer of Coindesk checked in with the new CEO Sarah Buxton on X in a Maidsafe Spaces podcast, to reveal it was actually Mr. Irvine and his vision that wowed him into the space in a big way, right around the time I caught same plus their former COO on a Max Keiser Episode talking about Maidsafe, which also grabbed my own attention.

SAFENetwork + WEB3 promises to be what the Internet was supposed to be way back when for me in 1989, while I was slinging cisco routers (that is right small 'c') into the Canadian University scene back in the day. I had some altruistic views back then of where I thought this thing called the Internet was going,

even though I really new 'it' was a military complex rollout of a big surveillance network with 'eavesdropping backdoors.

Heck I was Canadian then, still am now (although it's a very different almost totalitarian place now) and,

I wanted to believe 'they' (the deep state) 'knew not what they had really done',

which was open up Pandora's Jar (it was never a box)

to let the common person on the street communicate with some degree of privacy person to person without the 'state' eavesdropping and,

once the lid was off  back then,

I though 'they' would rapidly lose control of their iron 'surveillance' big brother grip on us, and opportunities would finally start to open up for us to  change the world  to be a better place for "We the People'. (rather than what it is today with 85% of the world's wealth controlled by just 1% of the population)

31 years later, its finally happening,

I'm still working (I will never be able to afford to retire), so I will put every spare ounce of effort I have left on this earth,

outside my day job and personal life commitments,

into helping Maidsafe out to see the 'little team (and community) that could' finally prevail.

Imo, the Greater Cryptosphere Development Community as it stands today, should really start to thing how they can re-mount their DEFI and SC value adds at the edge of the SAFE Network, taking action now,

IF they truly want to adopt WEB3. There are lots of partner opportunities.

I look forward to all the new innovations which will come spilling forth from the SAFE Network,

as I am looking forward to seeing 'Irvine and now BUX and crew'  kick over Pandora's Jar  in Internet form and smash it into a thousand pieces, replaced by the SAFE Network, just by downloading and running a node for free and sharing some storage space to earn rewards, and then spend the rewards on the SAFE Network.

I think Maidsafe will make the Internet 2.0 + WEB3 be what I always thought it could be,

the Internet "For the People', no 'state' included.

Despite all the shite out there it's a good time to be alive. ;)

TK over and out.

PS.  BUX posted this right away her first day on Maidsafe's Discord News

‘8 Steps to Understanding’ (written for those meeting MaidSafe and the SAFE Network for the first time):

1. The Safe Network is an autonomous data network that allows users to save, share and interact with their data securely and privately. Data is encrypted by default (unlike IPFS) and stored indefinitely (like Arweave's perm storage)

2. When it comes to infrastructure, many DePIN projects still rely on a very small group of infrastructure providers, as their hardware requirements are high. Users will eventually need to purchase costly machines in order to participate. Ironically, this leads to many DePIN projects' infrastructures being centralised... Safe Network achieves a truly decentralised infrastructure network by lowering the hardware requirement completely. Even a Raspberry Pi with a SD card can join

3. The network provides infrastructure that will allow for the personalisation of powerful AI models such as large language models (LLM) - without having to worry about privacy. We're expecting that AI personalisation will significantly improve model performances without having to create and train models that will be ever growing in size - saving millions of dollars

4. The Safe Network provides an infrastructure and environment - it’s not about creating AI models (it’s model agnostic, we would love to play with others). The belief is that as the need/desire for personalisation grows (right now even corporations can’t really use AI effectively because of fear of data leaks) we will need this new internet, this new network, where only you have access to your information, nobody else. SAFE allows your assistant to be model agnostic, but also hardware agnostic. Your model will be on any machine you are on and nobody or nothing can prevent you getting access. Your AI needs to be with you at all times and SAFE does that

5. As a use case - think how neat it could be to have an assistant that knows YOU, without fear of anyone else knowing. From your trading (what’s working well), to your music taste (what they should search for and play you - while you pay artists directly), to understanding your taste in fashion and your food preferences … an AI to control machines on your behalf, robotics for example could come in real handy … (unless you’d rather those machines being centrally controlled for you of course)

6. For model personalisation (which is still just one example of how the network can be used/built upon) users would migrate their private data to the Safe Network (knowing it’s fully encrypted and inaccessible to anyone but them) - this will grow the demand for storage space, which is provided by the spare capacity of our (eventually billions of) everyday devices

7. SAFE was the first decentralised network that allowed users to create accounts and log in with no other human in the chain. It seems like a small deal, but when presented with the power of AI, this level of total control being in the hands of the people is absolutely essential.

8. While the token EMAID is in market (along with MAID coin - launched on OMNI) both tokens will convert 1:1 to the upcoming SNT token when it launches on exchanges - this token will be the payment token which users will need to use in order to save data to the network.
