Based on the words of Shakespeare from "Macbeth" (Act 1, Scene 3), I sing in Ukrainian. For the first verse, I took the Ukrainian translation from a book, and for the second verse, I made my own translation of the same lines. As a result, we have two quite different translations and two quite distinct verses, even though it's essentially the same verse from Shakespeare (the chorus is a separate minimalist moment).

Ukrainian listeners will understand the song's lyrics in Ukrainian, while the English original of Shakespeare looks like this:
"The Weïrd Sisters, hand in hand,
Posters of the sea and land,
Thus do go about, about,
Thrice to thine and thrice to mine
And thrice again, to make up nine.
Peace, the charm’s wound up."

The word "Weird" I translated into Ukrainian as "чарівні" ("charming"), because I don’t think the witches themselves would call themselves "Weird" with a capital letter. It’s more of a figurative meaning or slang. Plus, the modern spirit requires contemporary interpretations. The image of the witch as a 300-year-old frightening hag is quite archaic and outdated. One of the facets of my work: I’ve been selling paintings of pagan gods for 9 years. Many of the women who bought paintings of Hecate, Moroz, or Lilith from me turned out to be young, beautiful, and often successful women. There were models, and even a world champion in one sport (I won’t say which one because it’s like a “medical secret”). But the point is that "charming" sisters fits very well in the 21st century, and I’ve become friends with some of these clients and continue to enjoy communicating with them (and with a few others, we were also friends, but ended up having a big falling-out... all because of their bad temper! 😀).
