First  I would like to clear few  things  very prominently that US SEC charges against  RIPPLE company not to XRP coin.
XRP is the product of Ripple company but today it is very true that XRP can  live alone without support of Ripple's intervention.

Not to panic at all

 US SEC charged to RIPPLE in US only and that is the consequent Binance US , eToro, Coinbase and Bittrex will  either delisting  or  suspending trading for US citizen. there is absolutely nothing to panic for other countries people right now.
Though the price of XRP  dropped drastically from 0.60$ to almost 0.20$ after the news. 

Ripple is saying it with clarity  that majority of users are out side of US and there  are clear rules  of the road for using XRP  in other parts of the globe like  UK, Japan, Switzerland and Singapore.

Previously SEC also charged EOS , and there is still EOS living , the case was settled outside the court .

Another thing to be noticed that few weeks ago there was a free airdrop of FLARE token  to the XRP users , and that created a huge hype to the market  and XRP went to higher price , exactly after 2 days of snapshot day  SEC charged against RIPPLE. ( you can understand  behind the curtain story)

In my opinion XRP may down even further so I will buy more if it gets down more and eventually it will rise again  and will produce a huge profit in future , it may take some good 6 months or so. 
I am not suggesting you to buy XRP now but if you wanna take risk with your excess money you can try it out.
